Here's the deal, 10 years ago, certain Judges in Oakland County were throwing kids in jail for minor in possession of alcohol cases. Well, there was one person who did challenge it, and by calling out these judges and appealing their illegal actions, Loren was able, in a written opinion, to convince the higher court that this was wrong and that jail was not a place for kids. Fast forward ten years and that case of Loren's has become the foundation for the MIP War (a statewide push to stop this illegal activity), and has also been responsible for keeping thousands of kids out of jail. Many lawyers will tell you they fight, few actually do. Loren is one of the few.
