My goal in every case is to assess the situation, explain the legal landscape to my client, outline the possible courses of action, and then help the client choose the course of action that has the best chance of achieving a reasonable outcome.
I communicate with clients via email and telephone, although email is often best as it eliminates the game of "phone tag." I try to make it a practice to respond to phone calls or emails within 24 hours, but when I cannot I try to have my assistant respond. Clients are understandably frustrated when lawyers do not respond. I'm not perfect, but I try my best.
