Jimmy Lefton’s practice is concentrated in Family Law, Personal Injury and General Civil Litigation.
His Family Law practice encompasses all types of Family Law Matters, including Divorces (contested and uncontested), Dissolutions, Change in Custody, Grandparent Rights, Child Support Establishment and Modification, Spousal Support, Paternity and Adoption. He has litigated before all of the Domestic Relations and Juvenile Court Judges and Magistrates in Hamilton, Butler, Warren and Clermont Counties.
Jimmy is a goal oriented Family Law Practitioner. Working with clients and identifying their objectives allows Mr. Lefton to customize his legal service and advice to best serve the needs of the client. Most clients would rather avoid the time, cost and drama of litigating Family Law matters. Therefore, Mr. Lefton works very hard with his clients to explore every opportunity to resolve issues out of court.
Jimmy also handles major personal injury matters including Auto Accident, Slip and Fall, Dog Bites, Wrongful death, Birth Injury, Brain Damage other catastrophic injuries.
While attending law school, Jimmy worked as an Assistant Attorney for the City of East Lansing, Michigan. Also while in law school, he was elected to a two year term on the school’s Law Review.
Prior to joining Barron Peck Bennie & Schlemmer, Jimmy worked as an assistant Prosecutor for Joseph Deters in the Hamilton County Prosecutors Office.
Jimmy is married with 3 children. He is very active in his community where he devotes a majority of his personal time to coaching youth sports including baseball, football and basketball. He is a board member of the Sycamore Athletic Club, Youth Basketball Organization.

Jimmy is on my "A" list of attorneys to have cases with as opposing counsel. He zealously represents his clients and their best interests, but he is fair and will settle a case when it is in the best interest of his client and/or their family. He is not afraid to litigate a matter if a fair settlement is not on the table. Jimmy will listen to both sides and do his best to come up with a resolution that works for everyone because he truly cares for the overall well being of the family. Not many family law attorneys take this approach. As an attorney, my favorite quality of Jimmy is that he is an honest and no non-sense lawyer! He is one of the good guys that gives attorneys a good name!
Jacob Kaufman Divorce & Separation Attorney
Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter
Jimmy is my brother and law partner. Jimmy is an excellent attorney, loving family man, and an upstanding member of the legal and civic communities. Jimmy brings a caring, compassionate, genuine concern to all matters he handles. As reflected by his AVVO client comments, he truly loves and cares for clients and their objectives. Not only is Jimmy conscientious and timely in his work product, but he is also interested in making sure all of the details are handled. You cannot go wrong if you choose Jimmy to be your attorney for divorce or separation. I refer divorce matters to Jimmy without hesitation and highly recommend him.
