I was disciplined for a personal matter that occurred as i was ending my first marriage. It did not involve a client, money, drugs, or anything else like that. I am embarrassed that I acted out of emotion and did something I deeply regret to this day. I did not work on the same pace that a Client wanted, who requested a full refund. As I had already devoted time on the case, including several trips to the prison and Courthouse, I could account for half the retainer and returned the other half to the Client's representative. They disagreed and pursued a Grievance. I was given a suspended sentence and continued representing Clients who needed an experienced, aggressive Criminal Defense attorney. less
