Hailing from the lakefront community of Marblehead, Ohio, Mr. Sczesny received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Toledo, College of Law in 2003 and was admitted to practice law also in 2003.
Mr. Sczesny joined the law firm of Groth & Associates in March of 2004, where he is currently a senior associate. His practice is focused on divorce, dissolution, child custody, child support and criminal defense. Mr. Sczesny is a member of the Toledo Bar Association, Domestic Relations Committee and the Juvenile Law Committee. Mr. Sczesny served as Chairman of the Domestic Relations Committee from 2008 through 2010.
While attending law school, Mr. Sczesny was a member of such organizations as the Prosecutors Clinic, the Public Service Externship Clinic and the Legal Institute of the Great Lakes where he served as an editor of the Great Lakes' Law, Science and Policy Journal. As a law student, Mr. Sczesny focused on public service by defending the workers' compensation fund while working for the Ohio State Attorney General's Office and protecting rights of crime victims as an Assistant Prosecutor with the Ottawa County Prosecutor's Office. During his undergradute years, Mr. Sczesny worked in Washington D.C. for Unitest States Congressmen Paul E. Gillmor who represented the interest of Ohio's fifth congressional district.
