Ameer Elias Mabjish

also known as Ameer Mabjish

About Me

I do not let my clients get taken advantage of by the system.  I do not talk at people like a case file or lesser person.  Plenty of others in the legal system do those things enough.  If everyone working within the criminal justice system, government, corporations, and insurance industry were always fair and just, criminal defense and plaintiffs' attorneys would not exist.

I am good at what I do and passionate about it.  I know when and how to stand up and fight to achieve favorable results for my clients.  I pride myself on fighting for each client skillfully, fearlessly, and professionally like I would for myself or any loved one.  That's what every person deserves and the law demands no matter the case or circumstances.  However, I am not a magician so I will also be open, honest, and realistic with you about the law and the circumstances in your case.  Every case is different.  But I will always do my best to protect you as well as keep you updated on what to expect once I have all the necessary information and an opportunity to fully investigate and study your case.

I have successfully tried numerous difficult, complex felony cases to jury verdict.  I have handled easily over a thousand criminal cases, mostly felonies.  Those cases include but are not limited to all types of juvenile and misdemeanor charges, DUI's and traffic offenses, probation violations, drug possession, drug trafficking, drug manufacturing, thefts, fraud, burglary, sex offenses, armed robbery, assaults, and murder.  I have achieved countless successful outcomes for my clients before trial including dismissals of all charges.  Multiple issues I have litigated have also resulted in successful appeals.  All those successful outcomes involve risk and require the courage of my clients to fight their cases with me.  In 2014 and 2015, I was nominated and selected as one of the "10 Best" Criminal Law Attorneys in Kentucky for client satisfaction by the American Institute of Criminal Law Attorneys.

I have worked long and hard to get where I am so, among other things, I could begin to be a stronger voice for others in the community like my clients.  I understand what it means to be underestimated, ignored, degraded, and unfairly treated.  This is why, while successfully maintaining my full-time legal career, I assembled a team to film a documentary about our local heroin epidemic in hopes of raising awareness, educating others, and helping the community as best I could in the fight against this epidemic.  That project led to my role as a senior producer in a collaboration with award-winning broadcast journalist and documentarian, Soledad O'Brien, who completed production of the documentary which aired on cable television in September 2015.  Needless to say, although you may "google" me or check out my links, I am not intimidated by the media or high-profile matters.  However, most cases and successful outcomes by criminal defendants do not involve media coverage.

I am an Ohio and Kentucky (and very soon the local federal courts) licensed attorney with The Risk Firm, PLLC ( We have an office centrally located in downtown Covington, Ky.  If you want or need an attorney that isn't scared to stand up for you against all odds, knows what he's doing, and cares about people (if you've read this far I imagine you do), then I look forward to helping you. Otherwise, good luck and I sincerely wish you the best.  Thank you.
