About me

Wesley Gersh is the founder of Gersh Law Offices, P.S.C., a law firm focused mainly on estate planning and administration, as well as elder law matters such as subjection for Medicaid and veterans’ benefits. Mr. Gersh currently represents many individuals and businesses, as well as accountants, insurance agents, stockbrokers, financial planners, bankers and their clients in both Kentucky and Southern Indiana.

Mr. Gersh’s emphasis is on providing peace of mind and family protection to clients in a prompt, courteous and consistent manner, at reasonable prices and always with integrity, warmth and compassion.


All initial consultations are complementary.



Mr. Gersh has been in private practice since 1978. Prior to that, he served as a trial attorney with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, where he investigated and prosecuted federal securities fraud cases throughout the United States. He is licensed in Kentucky, U.S. District Courts of Western & Eastern Kentucky, U.S. Tax Court, U.S. Court of Appeals and U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Gersh is a member of WealthCounsel and Elder Counsel, and is former board member of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys, and has served as the president of the International Association for Financial Planning. He has also hosted a radio call-in show about estate planning titled, “You Can’t Take It With You”, as well as co-authored the book Guiding Those Left Behind In Kentucky, a primer on how to settle an estate in Kentucky.

Mr. Gersh is a member of Louisville, Kentucky and American Bar Associations, Wealth Counsel, and Elder Counsel.

Mr. Gersh received his law degree in 1973 with honors from the University of Louisville, where he was an editor of The Journal of Family Law. He earned his undergraduate degree in accounting at Indiana University.

Mr. Gersh has volunteered his time as a board member and officer of many charitable and civic organizations, including the March of Dimes Foundation, Bridgehaven, The Entrepreneur Society and Temple Shalom (all of which he served as president), The Louisville Third Century, and the Louisville Theatrical Association. He also served as Chairman of the Board of the Jeffersontown Chamber of Commerce.
