I was born in New York City to immigrant parents and grew up in an English and Spanish-speaking household. I experienced firsthand the struggles facing those who are new to this country. My first job was working as a paperboy at age 10. I have worked hard ever since. I moved to Kentucky in 1989 and was one of a handful of Latinos living in Louisville.
I graduated from the University of Louisville in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. I went on to attend the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in 2000. After graduating from law school, I began my legal career at the Jefferson County Public Defenders Office. There, I honed my skills defending the accused. I also gained an appreciation for the value in treating everyone with respect and compassion, regardless of their circumstances.
In 2003 I began my own practice. I focus on helping those facing criminal charges, individuals injured in accidents and in immigration matters.
In 2007 I was awarded the Louisville Bar Association’s Young Lawyer Award, dedicated to noted Louisville trial attorney Frank E. Haddad, Jr. and given in recognition to one who has “…garnered the respect and admiration of both the judiciary and their colleagues.” (Read more…)
I have a passion for representing and protecting the rights of others. Please call me to discuss your particular case.
