About Me

Laura Baker is an experienced litigator who focuses her practice on personal injury and tort law.  She represents people who have been seriously injured as a result of the carelessness of others, as well as families who have suffered the loss of a loved one in a wrongful death accident.

Laura also was recognized as a Mid-South Super Lawyer in 2013, and a Mid-South Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2012.


 


Professional Activities


In addition to her law practice, Laura is very active in many legal organizations.  She currently serves as the President of the Lawyers’ Association for Women, Marion Griffin Chapter.  She has served this organization in a number of other leadership roles, including most recently as President-Elect and Treasurer.  Laura is also a member of the Nashville, Tennessee, and American Bar Associations.  She was recently selected for the inaugural class of the Nashville Bar Foundation Leadership Forum.  Selection to the Leadership Forum was limited to 28 attorneys in Middle Tennessee.  Laura was also selected as a member of the Tennessee Bar Association’s Leadership Law class for 2013, an honor reserved for approximately 30 lawyers across the state each year.  Laura is a Barrister in the Harry Phillips American Inn of Court.  She is a past member of the John Marshall American Inn of Court.


 


Community Involvement


Laura also volunteers in the community.  She serves as Co-Chair of the Lawyers for Littles bowling fundraiser, which is an annual event for lawyers and legal professionals that benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee.


 


Education 


A native of Nashville, Laura graduated from Rhodes College and the University of Tennessee College of Law.
