Just want to give her credit....

My brother got custody of his girls when his wife left with another man. He has been through hell and back and has never received a penny in child support. His family helped out when he needed it, but he was able to build a good life for himself. Last Christmas we saw on Facebook were she was giving away 50 inch televisions to single dads. I honestly thought it was not real, but sent an email with his information. I was shocked when he said the got a call to come and get a TV. My brother will most likely never use her as he is from North Alabama and his girls are close to turning 19 and hopefully, will never need to go to Court again. I don't know any other lawyers who would do this. Thank you for recognizing these dads!!!

    Thank God for Melissa Isaak!!!

I wanted to hire Melissa earlier this spring but she was on active duty orders with the Army taking a JAG course. Since she was out, I had to use another female lawyer. I told this other lawyer that it was very important to me that I see my kids for summer visitation, but she did nothing for me. I was so glad when Melissa came back, and within two days of her taking over my case, I had my kids for the summer. Melissa does not see her clients as nothing more than retainer checks like the other lawyer did. Trust me, if you want someone who you can relate to hire Melissa. Without a doubt the best Alabama has to offer!

    Fair Treatment

I retained Melissa L Isaak at the end of 2014 to represent me in a legal matter involving my ex-wife and DHR. I was accused of nonpayment of child support to the tune of $141,000.00. After our initial meeting, Melissa L Isaak was satisfied with the documents that I had provided that showed I had indeed taken care of the majority of my obligation. We had our day in court and I was ordered to pay a little over $5,000.00 which was what I call fair treatment. I highly recommend The Isaak Law Firm to any fathers out there that feel that they have not being treated fairly. I would also like to thank Dana M Delk, she was very instrumental in the outcome of my case.

Excellent lawyer but even better person

I have known Melissa for years and ended up seeking her assistance. She is one of the brightest, determined caring lawyers I have ever met, and I have used a few in my day. No other lawyer was willing to stand up for father's rights like she is. Want a down to earth, straight shooter then she is your lawyer. No other lawyers can hold a candle to her educationally, personally or professionally. She is a complete self made woman who has not been given a handout from anybody! Trust me when I say that when you meet her you will like her.

    Caring lawyer

I hired Mellissa to be my lawyer to get my rights back to my kid. I had a crappy lawyer before her and the Judge took away my rights because my X told the cops a lie about me. We got a new hearing and the Judge let me see my daughter again but had to see her with a shrink so we could get to know each other again. My X would never show up. But like somebody else said she hung in there with me. I actually couldn't pay anymore but she stayed with me anyways. So that BS about money from that other comment totally isn't true. I probably owe thousands but nothing was ever said. I talked to other lawyers but could tell they really didn't care about my case like she did. Oh, and ask her about why she does what she does. Great story. highly recommended but probably not by my X lol.

    Poor representation

Ms. Isaak started out very good. But, as time went by she repeatedly ignored my emails and failed to give me advice that could have helped me make better decisions. Maybe it was because I didn't have a lot of money but that shouldn't matter. In the end I felt as if I had had lots of money she would have fought harder for me. Me exes lawyer misfiled a final agreement and I had to call the judge to get it straightened out. THAT should have been done by by Ms. Isaak.

Melissa L Isaak’s response: “After checking with the other lawyers in my firm, it has been determined that this is a false review. There is no client in our firm where these facts apply. In fact, there are rules against what this reviewer has stated was done. There has not been a case where opposing counsel had "misfiled" an agreement. Further, clients are prohibited from calling the Judge directly. This is called "ex parte" communication with the Court. The facts presented in this review show that the review if false. In an email from AVVO dated, October 15th ,2014, AVVO stated the following, "Please note that we do not verify the information in client reviews." As disappointing and arguably irresponsible this lack of verification is on AVVO's part, it is something that must be dealt with by attorneys. My firm fights for father's rights, the rights of children to have both parents in their lives and must often challenge the status quo in doing so. False reviews are apparently part of our challenge.”

Melissa met with me when my Wife was wanting a divorce. The situation went on for months and Melissa talked with me and didnt rush me at all. My Wife and I ended up staying together and I am glad but I would recommend Melissa and have sent her friends who are getting divorced.

    Stuck with me

This divorce was the worst thing I have ever been through, and Melissa really made the process more bearable. I really had little hope as I had first spoken with my Wife's lawyer who told me that these Judges wont give me custody. I decided to talk to another lawyer and we worked together to show that the things my Wife was saying were lies, and my Wife ended up settling with me and I see my daughter half of the time. My daughter is doing great and I could not be happier. I highly recommend her.

Top=notch representation equals one happy dad

I actually had one lawyer before ms. Isak, and I didn't feel mine or my kids interests were in the priority. I switched to ms. Isak, and she always let me know what was going on. I actually deployed with the Tony fella below, and I have to disagre w ith ya bro. I know your my CPT in service and all, but heres my thoughts on Ms. Isak. Ms. isak always returned my calls, and her and her workers let me know up front my options about filing before deploying. I felt like I was throwing my money away with my first lawyer, but with this one, Ms. Isak, I actually get to see my kids more than before going to her. Tony man, don't hate! You use to sit drinking and tell us stories about all the lawyers you used before and how you didn't get what you wanted so you was going to throw em all under the bridge. Ms. isak, I'd hire you again in a minute. I love my kids. Thank you for fighting so hard for me and them so we can spend time together as a family. And thank you for helping me through all the legal mumbo jumbo that comes into play for us military guys.

    Never responded after payment

Asked for her help prior to a 6-month deployment to ensure that I was able to talk with my child. Paid her $500 upfront and the only thing that I asked was for her to send a legal document to my ex-wife's atty. The expectation for me had she followed-up through on this first commitment was that I would pay her a full retainer upon return for further court action. Followed back up a week later to see if her office ever sent the official letter and she never returned multiple phone calls or emails. I even expressed that I would be leaving for Afghanistan in 2 weeks and desperately needed to speak with her, but still no reply. Extremely disappointed to say the least!

Melissa L Isaak’s response: “While I strive to help men, I cannot help those with unreasonable expectations. Beginning litigation prior to a deployment can be risky and is not always in ones legal interests. There are no "legal documents" to send absent litigation. I would not represent this client again.”
