    Ronald’s Answer

I am sorry to hear about your loss. Unfortunately, garnishments do not have to provide notice to the person being garnished. The only notice requirement is for the original lawsuit under the concept of "service of process." The problem with the garnishment is that means there is an underlying judgment against you which, in the state of Alabama, is good for 10 years as far as collection and renewable for another 10 years. Execution on a judgment can take many forms to include garnishment of wages and bank accounts, seizure of personal property and real property along with serving as a lien on your real estate. Judgments grow at a rate of 12% per year or the contract rate. This blog post will give you some further information. Best wishes. http://www.bondnbotes.com/2013/02/21/what-is-a-judicial-lien/
