Donna was born in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma in 1955, and traveled with her parents throughout the United States as an army brat growing up. She ended up back in Alabama for high school, while her Dad was in Viet Nam, and went to the University of Alabama for both college and lawschool. She is an avid reader and enjoys gardening, as is evident from the courtyard garden in the back of her law office. She is the proud mother of Trip Smalley who practices law in Mobile, ALabama. Donna also has custody of her niece Rachel Wesson, and her nephew Roy Wesson, who live with her in Jasper, Alabama.
Donna Wesson Smalley is a passionate advocate for her clients, and a diligent worker, who is respected by her peers. She enjoys the practice of law, because it allows her to help others.
Ms. Smalley runs a boutique practice, and does both state and federal court civil litigation. As a long time Fellow of the AAML, she does a significant amount of Domestic Relations work, and is sought out as a mediator for cases throughout Alabama. Having worked for State Farm Automobile Insurance company in their claims department after law school she is excellent at handling automobile accident cases, and personal injury or tort cases of all kinds.

Donna has handled several domestic relations mediations where my clients were involved. Her sympathy and experience have resulted in numerous settlements that brought peace and resolution of disputes to the involved families. I would not hesitate to use her in any mediation.
