I found Eversole Law Firm via the internet and regret checking a review rating before hiring in for help. It was very hard to talk with him after the first initial visit and pay. I was told by Steven Eversole himself that my case was a very familiar one and knew exactly how it could pan out unless he moved swiftly. Unfortunately, for me that didn't happen. I was also under the impression he'd represent me when it was time to appear in court but instead he sent someone else from his law office I never met until my name was called in court. I was never informed before my date in court that someone other that he would appear to represent me. They never put up a fight. And from the way Mr. Eversole has responded to all that clients that gave a poor rating shows how unprofessional and lack there of confidentiality.

it is come to my knowledge that Mr Eversole was not made completely aware of my circumstances I have spoken to him to his recently as the 1st of this year through email through his generosity and is outstanding the mutation in the community and being a good Christian man he is willing to had a phone conversation with me go over all of the details and fine print and you what he can to help me all it takes is one bad apple in the bunch and I should not have allowed one bad experience with one of his attorneys to pass judgment upon his ability as an attorney himself and for that I apologize. he was nice enough to write me an email Ellicottville manner and bring this to my attention I have tried on several occasions to contact him through phone but have had difficulty obtaining any phone conversations do the is overwhelming schedule I look forward to speaking with him this coming week before the 17th I have some cases and some issues that he is agree to look upon and do what he can do being an upstanding Christian man and an outstanding attorney who direct contact with him and his willingness to go out of his way to assist me further just shows the character of this gentlemanI apologize for the negative review before giving him a chance to be made fully aware of my circumstances of my last case that was represented by a lawyer that I had never metso yes Steve I would definitely recommend as a lawyer or as a friend or someone to turn to talk to for advice or guidance thank you again and I look forward to speaking with you this coming week you're a good man and an excellent attorney and thank you for going out of your way to revisit our situation.

I feel very fortunate that I hired Mr. Eversole and his team. They worked hard and aggressively on my case and I was very happy with the communication(I've had horrible lawyers in the past), professionalism, knowledge, experience during representation. This is not a fly by not solo firm here. They assign each client the supervising lawyer, an associate lawyer and a paralegal to each case. They effectively utilized experts in defending my case as well, and I am more than happy to post a very positive review. I literally trusted my life to Mr. Eversole and he delivered, big time. My son was convicted with a different trial lawyer that I paid 75,000 dollars. That previous lawyer got my son 176 life sentences. Mr. Eversole had those sentences set aside and freed my son. Mr. Eversole is highly respected in the legal community as well having won numerous awards, including a recent Top 10 Criminal Lawyers under 40 award and a National Top 100 Trial Lawyer Award. He was also named Top Criminal and Divorce Lawyer in Birmingham in Birmingham Magazine and was featured in Newsweek Magazines Top 14 Criminal Lawyers among others. I normally don't write reviews or do things like this, but Mr. Eversole made an impression on me and my family and If you need help call them now. I can't recommend them enough. Mr. Eversole offers free consultations as well so give them a try, I guarantee you'll be impressed. They handle divorce and criminal cases primarily, but an excellent firm either way.

I hired Eversole Law to defend me in a criminal case. They never created a proper defense for me and tricked me into pleading guilty in order to get a trial by jury. They then abandoned my case on the trial level because I refused to pay additional fees for a trial which were not agreed upon. I made initial contact with Steven Eversole. I thought he would be representing me, but he sent other attorneys. At my first court appearance, Richard Perry of the Eversole Law Firm told me that making a guilty plea was the only way to appeal in order to receive a jury trial because he could not win this case on the Municipal level, so I did just that. During a later court date, Eversole Law Firm sent another attorney, James Fancher. The guilty plea was questioned to Mr. Fancher and I instructed him to correct this error. He told me that a plea of “guilty” was “no big deal” and told me that it was not important. This proved to be incorrect and poor legal representation I have suffered due to their unprofessional and unethical behavior. I thought that these so-called professionals would guide this process with good intentions, but that was clearly a very wrong assumption. They preyed on my ignorance.

Dear Sir, ignorant you certainly may be, but duped, you were not. Lets be honest here ok, we represented you on numerous cases, a DUI, Drug Charge and a Divorce case. You were happy enough to have us represent you on several cases for over a year---and for very little money mind(because we felt sorry for you and your mom who kept calling us and begging us to help you). During your representation you were locked up in the looney bin for months due to your psychological conditions, which were numerous and severe. You were presented options and stipulated to circuit court where we were preparing a trial by jury, for which you decided you did not want to go through a jury trial. I have all the e-mails to prove it and your signature on everything agreeing to a plea so you would stay out of jail. And you were headed that way because of your criminal history. I think my team did a good job merely keeping you out of jail and you were the one who did not want a trial. Why don't you actually put a name to your slander, or go back to the nuthouse. I could care less which. Show some fortitude and man-up boy. Also, I stand by my years of experience, thousands of clients helped, National Top 100 Trial Lawyer as voted by the National Trial Lawyer's Association, voted Top 10 Criminal Lawyers's under 40 by the National Academy of Criminal Defense Lawyers, voted by my peers in Birmingham Magazine's Top Criminal & Divorce/Family Law Attorney for 2014 and B-Metro Magazines 2014 Rising Star Award. I have also been featured in Newsweek Magazines Top 15 Criminal Defense Lawyers in the Nation. I am rated AVVO Top Client Choice Award Winner and Top Criminal & Divorce Lawyer by AVVO. Simply truth sir, you have severe psychological problems and need to continue to get help. Your ability to understand basic concepts seems really impaired. Also note, that slander is a civil tort for which the remedy is a civil judgement of money damages against you.

I found Mr. Eversole and his staff to be wonderful to work with. They kept me up to date beyond my previous experience with other lawyers, and worked hard to keep us informed of every aspect of our case. They ultimately helped me through a tough situation and didn't look at me as a client, or the person that pays them. I felt they truly looked at me as a person, and that made me want to write this review. Mr. Eversole has been around and knows his stuff and they worked hard on my case. I received precise monthly billing and they always did what they promised me. They fought hard and like it was personal. I trust Steve Eversole and his firm to take care of my more important business.

I was in desperate need of a criminal lawyer for a relative to file an appeal within 30 days. Mr. Eversole told me he was very familiar with appeals and yes, yes, yes, I should retain him. After he got my credit card info, he did NOTHINg until time was about to run out in 4 days. I'd called him once or twice a week with no response. Then on the last week with only 4 days to go, he was supposed to go to the jail and interview the relative and write a 'non-canned' plea for appeal. Since they were going to move my relative to another jail in another county, I told him to forget it. He'd not done anything in a month so I'd get someone else and please return my money. He was insulting to me, got really loud, totally out of control for a "professional" and hung up on me. Then he sent someone in his office to get the relative's signature so that he could remain on the case. He filed an incorrect paper which did absolutely nothing. I was told this by another attorney who saw the paper and he told me that Eversole "didn't know what he was doing". I filed a complaint with him with the Alabama board. I had written a post similar to this one and he told me he was going to sue me if I didn't take it down. I PAID THE MONEY ON BEHALF OF THE CLIENT & THE ATTORNEY COULDN'T / WOULDN'T talk to the client so he talked to me.
Please do NOT use this man for a criminal case. (He even admitted he was irrational when dealing with me ' You want somebody combative when you go to court".) Well, no, I don't. I want a professional who knows what the correct paper is to file.

      Lawyer Comment:

Dear Madam, your son plead guilty to murdering his girlfriend. He received a very long prison sentence as a result. We were hired after he was sentenced to over 70 years to file a motion to withdraw his guilty plea and set up for a Rule 32 petition for a grand total of $1500. All that was filed. In fact, your son liked our services so much that he wanted us to work his appeal and his rule 32 even after you decided to no longer pay for his defense. We have the forms he signed asking us to help. Simple fact, you couldn't or wouldn't pay, but we even tried to have the court appoint us on the case pro bono at your son's request. The court appointed the same public defender's office that plead your son to charges in the first place, and against whom he was alleging ineffective assistance of counsel instead. The fact of the matter is, your son was very happy with our service and we went above and beyond the call of duty to help him. And in fact, you were happy for our motion to work as appointed counsel as well until it was denied by the judge. Contrary to your belief, simply because the court denies the motion to withdraw a guilty plea after a hearing, that does not entitle you to a refund. You became bitter and angry that we allowed your son to make decisions regarding his case, instead of you, despite the fact he was our client. You have never been our client, that is reserved for your son. You still don't seem to understand the attorney-client relationship and wanted to interfere in his case merely because you paid a small fee. You were belligerent, irrational and very difficult. And yes, you filed a complaint with the bar, which was quickly dismissed as frivolous. I understand you're bitter, and nowadays, every fool can write an anonymous review and try to hurt someone's reputation. I stand on mine: Top 100 National Trial Lawyer for 2013-2014 as voted by the National Trial Lawyer's Association, featured in Newsweek Magazines Top 15 Criminal Lawyers, Birmingham Magazines Top Criminal & Family Lawyer(both categories) for 2014, B-Metro Magazines Rising Star Award Winner, AVVO Top Criminal & Divorce Lawyer, AVVO client choice award winner, and on and on. I've handled thousands of criminal cases by now and there are always people like you wanting the world for nothing, and when you don't get it, you howl at the moon, and try to extort people for money or you try and ruin their reputation through your bitterness and hate. I only wish you well and hope your son makes it in prison however. I know it must be very difficult for all of your family. God Bless.
