The instant I meet with Varina, I knew she was the best lawyer for my son's case. I connected to her because of her strong belief in God. I saw great wisdom in her work. She has a strong personality, knows the law and is not misleading. She is dedicated to her clients and is passionate about her work. She is also friendly will put you at ease and makes the problem seems lighter. She displays confidence, is outspoken and explores all avenues. I would strongly recommend her for any legal problems.

Mrs. Van Ness is a great lawyer. My first meeting with her I knew, I wanted her to represent me by the way she carried herself. She is very competent, outspoken, and confindent in what she does. One of her extraordinary abilities, is to commmuicate and help people understand the legal world. I would highly recommend this lawyer to anyone who wants a lawyer to keep them informed, and guide them in choosing the best course of action.

My son was in trouble down in Florida and was facing up to 8 years in prison. Of course the public defender assigned to him had already urged him to plead guilty! While in Manatee county jail, my son heard about Mrs. Van Ness, so I contacted her from here in Virginia. Not only did she visit him exactly when as she said she would, but upon understanding the facts of the case, assured him that everything would be ok, and continued to stay close to the case and provide him with periodic updates. Lastly, her fee was very reasonable, especially considering the amount of publicity and the popularity she'd garnered based on recent cases (she'd won) at the time; she worked with me, providing an opportunity for me to pay a flat rate, vise an hourly one. I trust, recommend, and endorse her implicitly!

Varinia Van Ness is an absolute powerhouse. Not only did she accomplish the job I'd retained her for, but she accomplished a reduction in sentencing that I didn't even think was possible for me. I watched her fight an erroneous charge with unflagging energy and intelligence. She has experience as a former prosecutor, and so understands exactly how the legal system functions, which was hugely beneficial to my case. She is also independently erudite on all matters legal. I would be in a very different position today without Varinia. She is a woman you want on your side.

After a very unsatisfactory experience with another well known attorney, we had the great fortune to find Varinia Van Ness to represent us in the same matter. From the beginning, it was clear that Varinia actually cared about our plight. We were immediately reassured as she patiently explained our rights, and the options we could pursue in terms we could understand. Varinia made us aware of several options that could have a significant positive result in our case that our previous attorney never even mentioned . With determination and tireless, vibrant energy Varinia guided us through the complicated legal system. She proved to be energetic, driven,enthusiastic, consoling, patient and ever diligent in her efforts. She is an excellent communicator, keeping us well informed each step of the way. If we had questions, Varinia always answered them promptly, often times within minutes (even on nights or weekends). She was always prepared, armed with facts, case law and an excellent knowledge of personalities and tendencies of the judge and opposing counsel. Her experience both as a former prosecuting attorney and defense attorney proved invaluable. Varinia was not only able to bring our case to a successful result, but she was also able to undo damage to the court record caused by our previous attorney. Varinia is compassionate, effective and timely in her work. She has been very easy to work with as she has been available to us both on the phone and through email. Our daughter needed juvenile representation and we live out of state. Varinia was clear and compassionate during our initial consultation. She has since kept us informed on the case and she has moved quickly. She had the right contacts and great knowledge of the local court system and the key players.

Varinia represented my fiance in a criminal case and in a child custody case. She did an excellent job. She fights hard for her clients. She keeps you informed and usually responds to emails within a few hours. Her personal relations skills are very good. I would hire her again and recommed her to anyone.

Varinia Van Ness stood up for me when I needed it the most. She is very good at communicating with the client. She returned my calls and emails even when I knew she was busy. She is someone who knows what goes on behind "enemy lines" from her wealth of powerful experience. That is extremely valuable in criminal defense. I have already referred her to many of my personal friends since she has gone above and beyond what I expected. Simply put, she is amazing. Her assistant is great too!
