I recently used Carolyn in a family law case involving interstate child support issues. I was pleasantly surprised at her down to earth demeanor and her willingness and ability to translate pages of legal jargon into everyday language that I could understand. Her ethics are impeccable and I feel like her billing was reasonable and detailed (unlike other attorneys that I have had). Overall, this attorney deserves a 5 star rating.
Ms. Swif has fantastic personal skills and clearly is very knowledgeable about what she doing and what direction is best for her clients. She's very caring and produces great work product! From the beginning, it was clear that she truly had me and my family’s best interest at heart. Unlike other attorneys that think litigating a case to death is the answer, Ms. Swift took a settlement minded approach and worked collaboratively with her counterpart to find a quick resolve to my issues. I could not have asked for a better attorney and I would strongly recommend her services to anyone in need of a brilliant family law attorney.
This attorney was recommended by a divorce financial analyst that I
retained to help me with my financial affidavit for divorce mediation. In consultation with this attorney, never did she, nor the financial analyst
mention or disclose to me that she had been the ex-partner for six years of my husband's attorney.
During the period of one month that I hired her she went through over
$6,000 with nothing to show in the way of pleadings or discovery on
my case. A good percentage of the retainer fees were spent on tele-
phone calls and "meetings" with my husband's attorney. She charged
double fees for documents that were done incorrectly by her and her
legal staff and refused to refund the fees. I never received copies of
any correspondence or filings that she made to the court nor verbal
information concerning discovery for mediation. I wrote to her asking
for copies of the "hard work" she had done on my case and to refund
the double charges. She refused by denying any wrong doing or conflict of interest. Indeed, this was a very valuable learning experience for me as well as being highly costly.
After mediation which should never have been scheduled (and she earned $1400.00 for nothing) I found an excellent attorney who was willing to take my case and is proceeding to represent me like anyone
would want and expect their attorney to do.
Beware of attorneys recommended by someone else that you have
retained because as I found out $10,000 too late, there are attorneys
out there just to make money who could care less about your case
and the outcome which will affect your life forever.
