Darrin Mish resolved a very expensive and difficult tax problem for me. From our first meeting (which was just a few days after my call), he was knowledgeable AND compassionate. He explained, in clear English, how we could proceed. And then, we did! It took a little longer than he anticipated, but apparently the IRS moves at its own pace.
This review applies to Darrin and to EACH of his employees. Everyone I worked with -- in person and on the phone -- was professional and understanding.

A few days ago, I phoned this law office, in quite a panic. I was worried sick about a tax matter involving my husband and his ex-spouse. I did not speak directly with Mr. Mish. However, I spoke by phone with two ladies in his office, both of whom were extremely helpful. I spoke with Heather for nearly 15 minutes. She took the time to answer my somewhat panicked questions, and reassured me while stopping short of 'advice' since she is not a licensed attorney. Shortly after hanging up, I realized I had one further question. When I phoned back, I spoke with Samantha who went so far as to put me on hold to run my question by someone 'licensed' in the office. This office did all of this without me even being a (paying) client. If I end up needing to hire an attorney, I will not hesitate to re-contact this office and hire Mr. Mish. Many thanks

After speaking with Mr. Mish about a potential problem I was facing with the IRS he took time out of his day and answered all my questions regardless of the fact in his own words I didn't need to hire him for the situation. What impressed me is the advice he gave me on the call totally relieved me of all the anxiety I was feeling about the issue. I thank God for people like him. The world could sure use a lot more attorneys willing to help like he does.

I have never had this type of experience with an attorney before as Mr. Mish solved my problem during the initial consultation. Most attorneys will "hold back" information you need, get a retainer of $5k, and then "solve" the problem just after getting the high retainer, and keep the $5k. This spoke volumes to me of his integrity, which, let's face it, does not run deep in the attorney field. Friends and associates I have referred have also been treated exceptionally well. I would not hesitate to hire him should the need arise again.

I hired Darrin Mish due to an IRS letter stating that I owed over $111,000.00 for several years of past due taxes. After putting my mind at ease, I could only hope for an outcome that wouldn't destroy my financial future. I am happy to say that we have settled with the IRS for $50, no, that is not a typo. Hire Darrin Mish, follow his guidance, and feel confident that he will get you the best result possible. Thank you again Darrin!!! Sincerely B.W

This case was my personal best for lowest settlement. I'm so excited for you to get back on with your life! Congratulations!!!”

Darrin took time to advise me on how to resolve my tax problem on my own.
I consulted two of the major tax relief companies which changed the amounts of the retainer just before I was about to sign a contract for them to represent me.
I thought that the retainer amount should not have changed but I do understand the fees for service will vary greatly based on the complexity of the case.
Because I didn't feel comfortable with the way they did business I declined and began researching the internet. I learned of Darrin T. MIsh on You Tube and by watching his videos I contacted him about my individual tax debt of $41,588.35 from 1998 to 2008.
Since a levy to garnish wages at $1,107.98 p/mo had already been enforced he said I should get transcripts of my record of account, verify the CSED (collection statute expiration date), and try to negotiate with the IRS on my own.
On Thursday, 9/17/15 at 8:30am I went to the IRS office in Phoenix and initially the revenue agent said I owed the full amount. When I asked about CSED he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about so I asked to speak with a supervisor.
The supervisor knew exactly what CSED was and after about 40 minutes of reviewing my case she called a individual taxpayer advisor to come to her office and instructed her to prepare a Form 688-D to release the levy on my wages.
Then the supervisor told me that because the 10 year statute of limitations passed on tax years 2002 and older, I was not liable to pay the tax as it is unenforceable.
She did say that I owed $6,308.39 and asked how much can I afford to pay each month, I said $600 and she agreed and prepared the Form 9465 for me to sign.
The supervisor gave me copies of the Levy Release, Installment Agreement and transcripts to verify all CSED years 1998 to 2002 were unenforceable.
The individual taxpayer advisor came back with a fax confirmation from my employer to verify they received the levy release and gave me a copy.
I left the IRS office at 12:00 pm and called my employer and HR verified they received the levy release and will stop the wage garnishment immediately.
I NEVER could have accomplished this without watching the You Tube videos from Darrin T. Mish and some additional research of my own.
Darrin, you rock! and thank you for urging me to give this a try. I was totally prepared to ask you to represent me and send you a retainer if I was on the hook for the entire $41k.
The main reason for my post is because even though I did not pay you for any advice or hire you to represent me, you were willing to take valuable time from your schedule to communicate with me and help me solve my tax problem on my own.
That is a sign of integrity, honesty, professionalism and compassion. If I ever need your services or know of someone who does, I would be confident to refer them to you!
By the way, I even sent Darrin a copy of the Form 688-D Release of Levy/Release of Property from Levy to show him the results. The only advice I can offer is the national tax relief companies don't compare to Darrin, do your research, gather your documentation, be polite and respectful when dealing with the IRS, be reasonable when agreeing to a solution, but stand your ground and make your position known. The entire experience with the IRS was friendly and courteous even if the revenue agent did act as if he didn't know about the 10 year statute of limitations on collecting tax debt. The supervisor was the key to the solution in my case. After 4 hours I reduced my tax debt from $41,588.35 to $6308.39 and stopped the wage garnishment of $1,107.98 p/mo and set up a $600 p/mo payment plan. I must admit Darrin T. Mish and his You Tube videos were the major influence on my tactics and the results. I could have posted about 1,400 more words (which) I sent to Darrin, but there is not enough space. If you need tax help, contact Darrin T. Mish!

I went to Darrin Mish and paid him to settle IRS problem. and I met with every Attorney and employee in his office. I sent my records over to them 3 times and every time they lost them. And I sent them by registered mail. Finally I had to hand deliver them to his office. To make a long story short he was untruthful and very nonprofessional to be an atty. So I would not recommend any to this Atty. I ended up settling it on my own, and what I paid him would have paid half my settlement.

Darrin T. Mish’s response: “The first time I read your review I was disappointed. Not for the reason that you probably think. I was disappointed that you felt like your case didn’t matter or that it wasn’t handled appropriately. Poor business reviews are an opportunity for me to see where we fell short. They allow me to see what I may not have seen before and they allow me to set goals to improve in those areas of shortcomings. All businesses fall short sometimes. I wish that that wasn’t the case. I know that your case has been closed for at least three years. How do I know this? I know because I personally handle every matter and there have been NO instances as you describe during that time frame. Sometimes clients feel frustration (and perhaps rightfully so) when they are repeatedly asked for documentation. Sometimes this is because the client can’t get themselves current (meaning all past returns filed and estimated tax payments made) and then the case slides further and further down the line. It becomes unsolvable because the taxpayer actively is making the problem worse every day! When you aren’t having sufficient withholding or making appropriate estimated tax payments, NO professional can resolve an IRS problem. Another very common problem is that clients are asked to provide complete documentation but they only provide some of the documentation. This again, results in the delayed resolution of the case. In the past, I made a serious error. The error was that I was too forgiving of clients who didn’t fully cooperate. They would have excuses and any number of reasons why they couldn’t possibly do the reasonable things that I was asking them to do. But I’ve learned something fascinating over the years. The nicer I am to them (meaning the more time I give them to procrastinate) the longer the case ultimately takes to resolve. And even more fascinating is the fact that clients begin to blame ME for how long the matter has taken to be resolved. In order for me to truly help, I have to PUSH the case along, offer some tough but kind hearted love, and move the case to final resolution. That’s what we have been doing since January 2014. Lastly, I have been the ONLY attorney in the firm for almost two years now. During 2011 and 2012 we experienced tremendous growth that did cause some challenges in client communication. Those have been rectified for over two years now. I am genuinely happy to hear that you resolved your problems with the IRS. No one deserves to have that hang over their head. I’m very sorry that things didn’t work out between us. I will use this review to strive to not only meet but exceed future client’s expectations.”

Coming from New Jersey (after seeing 2 attorneys and 3 CPA's, all of which could not solve my problem), Darrin was the 2nd attorney I consulted after arriving. After spending over ten (10) years trying to resolve this, Darrin was the only one who told me "I didn't have a problem, he did and he will fix it".... and he did. His knowledge of the incompetency of the IRS and how to deal with them is extensive. He knew what to do and handled everything with my minimal input. For the 1st time in 10 years I was able to sleep at night and not fear those nasty phone calls. I trust him and will recommend him without hesitation. He is my hero.....God blessed me by putting him in my path, and he will be truly blessed in return for all his good works.
