About Me

I was the class valedictorian of the class graduating May, 1980 from Stetson University College of Law.  I graduated magna cum laude.  I was also the Editor-in-chief of the Stetson Law Review.  I was included in "Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities."  I received the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy.

I graduated from the University of South Florida in 1977 with a B.A. in Political Science.  I was a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Societies.

I am a member of the Florida Bar and the American Bar Association.  I have served on the Florida Bar's Admiralty Law Committee, Continuing Legal Education Committee, and Civil Trial Certification Committee.  I have also served on the Florida Supreme Court Committee on Standard Jury Instructions in Civil Cases.

I am a board-certified civil trial attorney by the Florida Bar.  I have taught as an adjunct professor at Stetson University College of Law.

Before attending law school, I served in the United States Army, reaching the rank of Captain.  I served a tour in the Republic of Vietnam as an officer in the Fifth Special Forces Group (Airborne).

I am married with four grown children.  I enjoy fishing, hunting, and other outdoor activities.  I am a member of the National Rifle Association and the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy (Lawyers Division).

I have been active with the Boy Scouts of America, serving as a scoutmaster for three years.  I currently serve as the District Chair for the Tocobaga District of the Gulf Ridge Council.
