Posted by a Chapter 7 client,
I wanted to revisit my initial review of Clare Casas. After being disappointed by our experience with Ms Casas, we took a chance on attorney John Moffa and I can truly say that he and his staff are worth every penny. Thanks to John Moffa and his incredible staff we received our chapter 7 discharge in December 2013. Just 6 months after being advised by attorney Clare Casas that we should file chapter 13 instead. Everything that Clare Casas said that could not be done in our case was executed to perfection by John Moffa. She said Initially that we could file chapter 7, then back tracked after she received payment in full. Then said that she would not file chapter 7on our behalf. Therefore pulling the rug from under us quitting on our case. Once again, as I mentioned in my first review of Clare Casas, stay away from this attorney if you are considering any form of bankruptcy.

She quit on my case because she did not fully understand my financial situation. After meeting with Clare, delivering all docs requested by Clare, and paying her $2256 we proceeded with chapter 7 filing. She assured us that chapter 7 was the right bankruptcy for us. It was explained to her on more than one occasion that we were not interested in chapter 13. She then told us the next step was to wait for 30 days to sign final documents. We signed docs and she then emailed me a day later to suggest that now she recommends a chapter 13. Ultimately she emailed me to say that we had irreconcilable differences and sent me a refund check for $306. Stay away from this attorney. She charges you and does not complete your filing. She tried to find every excuse in the book not file chapter seven for my case when it was clear she did not have full understanding of the law. She even asked me to sign an Affidavit that indemnified her from any responsibility if she was to file bankruptcy for me. In the Affidavit also wanted me agree that I did not send her financial info that she requested. Which was mind boggling to me after I sent it to her twice, she reviewed it and gave me feed back on same info. You are better off playing black jack with this money. Stay away!!!!
