About Me

As the founder and President of The Andersen Firm, my objective is to develop lifelong relationships with my clients, not short-term engagements. I treat my clients as friends because I want them to be my friends and to count on me to do my very best for them. It is my goal and the goal of our firm to make estate planning, estate settlement and probate an easy, comfortable and enjoyable process to the extent possible. There is no greater fulfillment than seeing a client smile and breath a sigh of relief when all is said and done. The most important things I bringto this whole process—besides all the education, training, experience and knowledge—is being a good listener and explaining things in a simple, straightforward manner without all the legal language and process that can be so confusing.

I attended the United States Military Academy at West Point and received a Degree in Engineering, then went on to serve in the U.S. Army commanding infantry units in the 101st Airborne Division and Second U.S. Infantry Division in Korea. After my military career, I earned my J.D. at Vanderbilt University School of Law and my LL.M in Estate Planning at the University of Miami School of Law.

I’ve been practicing law for almost 25 years and have enjoyed many honors including serving as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Labor for Elizabeth Dole in the first Bush Administration, being an appointee of former Florida Governor Jeb Bush to serve on the Judicial Nominating Committee for the 16th Judicial Circuit, earning the Cleland Leadership Award at West Point, serving as Honor Committee Chairman during the worst cheating scandal in West Point's history and Senior Managing Editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review. I’m a member of the National Network of Estate Planning Attorney's and Wealth Counsel. I’m also a member of the Tennessee Bar, District of Columbia Bar and Florida Bar. Additionaly, I have also been appointed as an Accredited Estate Planner and National Association of Estate Planners & Councils.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned throughout the years, and something that I hope everyone learns, is to enjoy your life no matter what you are doing, at work and at play. When I’m not working, you can catch me out fly fishing—it’s one of my favorite hobbies.
