About me

Albert Einstein famously said: "You have to learn the rules of the game.  And then you have to play better than anyone else."  In keeping with this idea, I've attempted to maximize my knowledge of the rules of evidence and civil procedure, so that I can use the rules to my clients' advantage in pre-trial litigation, and anticipate and address opposing parties' arguments and objections at trial.  In addition, throughout all phases of court proceedings, my practice emphasizes attention to detail, superior research and writing, and thorough and systematic preparation.

I'm a state and federal trial and appellate lawyer with a broad range of experience representing clients in business, real estate, and other civil litigation.  I've represented clients in so-called "complex actions" (involving complicated legal or case management issues), as well as in actions where the amount in controversy exceeds $750,000.00.  But I also regularly assist clients with handling routine disputes where the amount in controversy is less than $50,000.00.  A detailed description of some of my prior cases can be found on my attorney profile page at

My clients include:

•Private businesses

•Community associations (HOAs and condominium associations, e.g.)

•Financial institutions

•Real estate professionals

•Individuals involved in a business, property, or civil dispute (simple or complex)

If you're in search of a competent, trustworthy, and passionate litigation attorney, then please call my law firm at (954) 764-6766 and ask to speak with me.

  • Seda Aktas

Energetic, determined, personable, smart, resourceful, and ambitious, Mr. Carlin demonstrates key attributes of some of the nation's top litigators. I've been able to refer Mr. Carlin cases and he has exceeded my expectations each time. I would trust him with not only a client's woes but also with my own, Mr. Carlin is one of the very select few I would trust to pursue my rights, or to defend me should the occasion arise. Highly recommended.
