Andrew (“Andy”) P. Lannon, Esq. is the City Attorney. He is one of only two attorneys in the State of Florida board certified in both Business Litigation and City, County & Local Government Law.
Throughout his career, Mr. Lannon has worked primarily in the areas of commercial litigation (i.e., business litigation) and appellate advocacy. Mr. Lannon started his legal career as a staff attorney (law clerk) to the Honorable Peggy A. Quince of the Florida Supreme Court. At the conclusion of this two-year clerkship, Mr. Lannon joined the Orlando office of the global law firm, Holland & Knight LLP, where he served as a member of its Central Florida Litigation Group.

He has been recognized as a member of Florida Trend’s Florida Legal Elite in 2012, 2013 and 2015 and as a top rated lawyer in commercial litigation by The American Lawyer & Corporate Counsel Magazine in 2013. In the community, Mr. Lannon is a second degree member of the Knights of Columbus. In 2015, he was personally selected to be a member of the prestigious City, County and Local Government Law Section's Executive Council. He further serves as a member of the Florida Bar's Eminent Domain Committee. Locally, he is a member of the Brevard County Bar Association and a Barrister in the Vassar B. Carlton American Inn of Court, further serving as the Secretary/Treasurer since 2014. On January 25, 2016, Governor Rick Scott appointed Mr. Lannon to the Eighteenth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission with a term ending on July 1, 2019.
Mr. Lannon received his B.A. in Classics from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA and his J.D. from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in Washington, DC. In law school, Mr. Lannon was a member of Moot Court as well as the Journal of Contemporary Health Law and Policy for which he served as the Note and Comment Editor. His comment, Let Him Die with Dignity or Hope for a Cure: The Consequences of Modern Medicine, was published in the Winter 2002 edition. During law school, Mr. Lannon interned at the United States Department of Justice, Office of Legal Policy and at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, Division of Enforcement.
Mr. Lannon is admitted to practice in the State of Florida; the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida; the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern and Middle Districts; and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
