About Me

Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Dennis Chen migrated to Florida after his completion of high school. He served two years in the U.S. Army in Germany, then attended the University of Florida where he completed a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Mathematics. His education was interrupted for a six month period while he served in Operation Desert Storm, Saudi Arabia.  Dennis left the US Army Reserve as a Sergeant. He worked as an insurance adjuster with State Farm for a year and then attended the University of Florida, College of Law.

Dennis Chen began law practice with a workers' compensation law firm in Winter Park where he represented injury victims and later joined Hartford Ins. Co. as a staff attorney defended businesses. He now operates his private law firm in Orlando where his practice is focused in the areas of bankruptcy, consumer law, foreclosure defense, landlord-tenant law, real estate and general litigation. He is admitted to practice law in the states of Florida and Texas. He is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Southern, Middle & Northern Districts of Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, and the U.S. Court of Appeal for the Eleventh Circuit.

Mr. Chen has served as a Director for Bread of Life Fellowship, Inc., a non-profit organization that collects and distributes food to the needy throughout Central Florida. Mr. Chen has served as an arbitrator with the Attorney General's Lemon Law Arbitration Program and as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Central Florida Chapter of the Caribbean Bar Association. He has also served as a director of the Silver Glen Homeowners Association, as a board member of the City of Ocoee Education Committee, and on the Orange County Animal Classification Committee.
