My case had been "lost" in Immigration for about a year before I went to Colombo & Hurd in Orlando and had attorney Michael Mendez handle things for me. Mr. Mendez was very honest from the first consultation. He explained all the possibilities for my case and gave me his professional opinion about the best way to proceed. I liked how he was always aware of what was needed. For example, he went personally to the Immigration office twice to work on resolving the situation. I also appreciated the fact I could communicate my concerns to him in my native language as it made me feel more confident.
My case was resolved in less than six months and I have to say it was because Mr. Mendez was on top of everything that was needed. He always knew exactly what was going on with my case and was able to address it to the right people at the right Immigration department. I recommend Mr. Mendez for his professionalism and honesty, especially when explaining the options available to resolve a case.

Michael Mendez was the attorney who helped me win my case for permanent resident status. He made sure his office always contacted me with every detail I needed to know throughout the process. He was very friendly with me and made it easy, answering all my questions. It was helpful that he spoke Spanish, my native language. He was able to get my case closed through my son's petition for citizenship. I got my permanent residency and I am so happy with all he did for me.

I came from Panama 28 years ago looking for a better life. I didn't have a green card until a month ago. A year ago I met the lawyer Michael Mendez and he helped me to get my legal status after my son came of age and I was able to start my legalization process. Mr. Mendez was very patience with me. I didn't have all the money to pay the forms and also the lawyer, but Mr. Mendez offered me to pay in parts. It helped me a lot because I didn't have the entire amount. All the legal processes were very easy because of his professionalism and he is also a great person. I got first my work permit in the mail and 3 months afterwards my green card. I didn't go to any interview. Mr. Mendez is the best lawyer. I know many that just want the money, but he wants the job done. I will recommend him to everybody.

Michael Mendez achieved what several other attorneys over eight years could not--he won asylum for me and my sons and we will be eligible to apply for green cards in a year. We were being persecuted in Egypt because of our religious beliefs as Coptic Christians, and my case was made more difficult due to the previous asylum denials. Mr. Mendez took my case very seriously. He's extremely knowledgeable about the entire situation in Egypt and the difficulties that Christians experience there. He dealt with every detail and was on top of every part of the case. Mr.Mendez always kept me up to date on everything and responded to my calls and emails right away. I know it took a great deal of work to win our asylum and I am so thankful to Mr. Mendez for everything he did for me and my family.

My wife, who is from Peru, needed to get U.S. citizenship, and thanks to Michael Mendez, our lead attorney at Colombo & Hurd, we were much more comfortable and confident during the otherwise stressful process. We'd met with other immigration attorneys, but didn't get a good feeling from them. In contrast, Mr. Mendez was patient and listened to us. His assessment of our situation and the time frame was realistic, and he was honest about what it would cost. His paralegal assistant Lady Gonzales was also very helpful and wonderful to work with. Dealing with the government on an immigration issue is difficult, at best. But Mr. Mendez and his experienced team made the whole situation much easier than it could have been.

I've lived in the U.S. since the 1990s, but when I last applied to renew my residency status, I was denied, because I made an error in filling out the application. With the help of Michael Mendez, I was able to finally get permanent residency status.
I first tried other attorneys. but they weren't optimistic that they could help me. Mr. Mendez agreed to take on my case. It really helped that he speaks Spanish, my first language, so we could communicate better. He was very good at keeping me informed when they heard back from Immigration. My application kept getting rejected, but because he stuck it out with me and didn't give up, we won the case and I'm able to continue my life here.

After 30 years in this country, I lost my green card and was going to be deported because I forgot to renew my driver's license. This was 4 years ago. I lost my bakery business and had to sell my trucks and could no longer work. I lost everything. My daughters could no longer get scholarships and financial aid to attend university.
Before finding Michael Mendez at Colombo & Hurd, I had spent thousands on another attorney without getting results. It was a complicated case and Mr. Mendez said it would not be easy, but little by little we made progress. He and his staff were very thorough and fast. They contacted me immediately when immigration needed something. They kept me informed and prepared me for court dates and everything I had to do. And now I've got my green card back. It was much faster than I had expected. Two months ago I got my work permit. I'm starting over, but I'm grateful to be able to stay here, and thank Mr. Mendez.

Before an attorney friend referred us to Colombo and Hurd, I went through attorney after attorney who just could not get the job done. From the beginning, I knew Colombo and Hurd would get it done. They were up front with me about the obstacles ahead, but they prevailed in overcoming them all. In the end, it was Michael Mendez who spoke at the final and most important hearings. Despite the complexity of my case, he saw it through. I am thankful and would recommend him to anyone who has an immigration need.

Mr. Mendez was patient and supportive during a very long hard struggle that lasted two years. He always encouraged me and never gave up on my case. His office staff was courteous and always responded to my needs. I was very lucky to have found an attorney like Mr. Mendez at a time when I most needed a professional who had the knowledge and perseverance to take on and complete this most difficult case.

I was facing possible deportation and obviously very distraught. Mr. Mendez talked with me repeatedly and worked with my very small budget. I consulted with a few other lawyers before I choose him. He was able to put me at ease and his knowledge of immigration law was very impressive. There were a couple of times that I left him a message and he didn't get back, but after a few visits/phone calls, he and his staff came to know me and my daughter by name. That made me feel like they actually cared. I do recommend Mr. Mendez :)
