About me

Chris Patterson was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1985. After service as an officer in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps and Special Assistant United States Attorney, he established a private practice of law emphasizing criminal law, juvenile matters (civil and criminal) and mediation (family and dependency law). This law practice encompasses several thousand cases at various levels in state, federal, and military courts. Mr. Patterson has tried in excess of 200 jury and non-jury trials before various tribunals.

Mr. Patterson is certified as a criminal trial specialist by the Florida Bar and as a criminal trial advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He is active in local, state, and national bar associations, to include the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Christian Legal Society, and National Association of Counsel for Children. Among other courts to which he is admitted, Mr. Patterson is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. He is a past recipient of the Florida Bar President’s Pro Bono Service Award, representing the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit.

Mr. Patterson is a frequent lecturer to various agencies and civic organizations. He is a regular contributor to a local radio talk show, several magazines, and is a published author of two novels. He served as an on-air contributor on Court TV. He has been named a Florida "Super Lawyer" for 2006 and 2007, by Law and Politics Magazine. He is listed in Who’s Who in American Law and Who’s Who in America. He is active in this community with membership in numerous service and religious organizations, to include Rotary International, Assistant Governor-District 6940 Area 4, Past President of the Rotary Club of Panama City Beach, Board Member of the Gulf Coast Childrens Advocacy Center, Bay and Washington County Teen Courts, The American Legion,
