    • I do not recommend Thomas Delegal.
    • I hired Thomas more than 3 years ago.
    • Thomas handled my Employment / Labor matter.
    • I have previously worked with 3-5 lawyers.

Routine employment issue where I needed legal advice on how to proceed with a harassment suit against an employer.... by the time I even got 'face time' with the attorney I hired, I was bounced around to three different people, and the next day the first bill arrived! I was shocked.

I was hoping for attention and responsiveness to my needs to pursue a case, this firm was NOT it... I had it handled successfully with another attorney (whom I've provided with a favorable review rating)

Nutshell: I had to stop with these guys, due to erroneous billing amongst other issues, retain a new firm and proceed... be wary of this firm unless you like spending money with NO discussion

      Lawyer Comment:

I have no idea who this could possibly be. We do not initiate representation of any client without first having an attorney meet with the client and fully discuss billing arrangements. We always enter into a clearly explained fee agreement, and then also send a confirming letter to clarify the terms of the relationship. There is simply no way that a new client would first meet with non-staff members on a case. There is also no way that any client would receive a bill after we began work on the case. I know of no clients who have hired us for a "harassment" claim within the past six months who have gone to another attorney for representation. This simply has to be a fraudulent account of our representation.

While a client of the Delgal Law Firm, I kept requesting update as to the status of my case. I received two calls from Tad and the rest of the time was apprised by his clerk.

I purposefully requested verbally and in writing that correspondence go to a certain address so that third-parties were unaware of the proceedings... that explicit (and simple) request was disregarded and case-related information was discovered.... AAAUUGGHH!

When the case was eventually settled, there was no de-brief, or "thanks, we tried our hardest..", just an invoice.

      Lawyer Comment:

I apologize that the correspondence went to the wrong address and we were also very frustrated with the error. My recollection is that the miscommunication did not result in any disclosure to the opposing party, and rather simply resulted in a family member knowing about a matter which the client did not wish the family member to know about. I do not recall this client having any complaints with the quality of our service. We use non-attorney time when possible because paralegals cost less for the client than attorneys, and can be used to handle certain tasks in a cost-effective manner. We do now send closing letters to client thanking them for retaining our firm. My recollection is that we were trying to handle the matter in a very cost-effective fashion for this client who was on a limited budget. If the client had ever wished to discuss anything with me, I would have certainly met with him to review any issue.
