About Me

 

Stan Baker has considerable experience litigating a variety of cases for large corporations, professional practices, and individuals.  As an attorney with the Jordan Firm, Stan has taken a lead role in representing some of the nation’s largest and most successful transportation companies in federal and state courtrooms across the country.  Stan also has an active education law practice representing Georgia education professionals before local school boards, the State Board of Education, and Georgia’s Professional Standards Commission.  Stan is frequently called upon to train educators on topics including Georgia’s Code of Ethics and confidentiality laws.  Prior to joining the Firm, Stan practiced commercial litigation in Athens, Georgia, and he continues to represent individuals and businesses in a broad range of commercial disputes including breach of contract, business dissolution, employment litigation, real property disputes, RICO, and non-compete agreements.  Stan also frequently represents individuals and corporations facing criminal charges in state and federal courts across Georgia.  He specializes in representing clients facing federal chances including mortgage fraud, bank fraud, wire fraud and conspiracy charges as well as narcotic, firearms, and alcohol offenses.

 

Stan is a former law clerk to the Honorable William T. Moore, United States District Court Judge in the Southern District of Georgia.  Stan graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia School of law.  Stan’s law school honors include being selected for the Order of the Barristers and the Joseph Henry Lumpkin Inn of Court, winner of the Talmadge Moot Court Competition, national finalist for the American Bar Association’s Moot Court Competition, national finalist for the American Bar Association’s Mock Trial Competition, , finalist for the J. Melvin England Mock Trial Competition, and semifinalist for the Richard B. Russell Moot Court Competition.  Prior to law school, Stan received his Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Davidson College.  At Davidson, Stan was captain of the track team and a letterman in football.

 

Stan’s bar memberships include the State Bar of Georgia, United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia, United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.  Stan is an officer of the Brunswick Glynn County Bar Association, and he is a council member for the Brunswick Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce.  He also serves on the school counsel for St. Simons Elementary School.  Stan’s wife, Crystal, is also an attorney and they live on St. Simons with their two daughters.Stan has years of experience representing individual and corporate clients faced with daunting criminal charges in federal and state courts.
