About Me

Jeff Lasseter was born in Perry, Georgia and has spent his entire career practicing law in the Middle Georgia community. After graduating law school from the Walter F. George School of Law of Mercer University in Macon in 1988, he became a partner in the law firm of Culpepper & Liipfert where he concentrated his attention on family law, real estate law, government law, as well as criminal defense. After that stint in private practice, he joined the Bibb County District Attorney's staff as an Assistant District Attorney, where he personally prosecuted well over 3,500 cases in a career that spanned nearly 15 years. He was assigned to the Narcotics unit, the Domestic Violence unit, the Major Crimes unit, and the Property Crimes unit during his extensive career there, His understanding of this variety of criminal prosecutions made him the logical choice to lead the day-to-day operations of the Bibb County Grand Jury. He was instrumental in Grand Jury special investigations involving the Bibb County Board of Education and the Macon Water Authority.

In 2005, Jeff relocated to Perry to continue his career in prosecution. He joined longtime friend District Attorney Kelly Burke's staff as an Assistant District Attorney. Being given the directive to lead the Property Crimes unit, he personally prosecuted well over 1500 cases during the following 4 and a half years, while earning the designation of Senior Assistant District Attorney. In Houston County, he worked with victims of property and theft crimes on a daily basis.

During his 19 years as an Assistant District Attorney, Jeff was appointed as Special Prosecutor in Baldwin County, Wilkinson County, Houston County, and Sumter County.

Jeff's focus is on the immediate needs of the firm's clients. The firm has made the affirmative decision to be available on a 24/7 basis. What separates Burke Lasseter LLC from the other law firms is that we are available at all times, we promptly return phone calls, and we attend to the needs of our clients in an expedited manner.
