You definitely need a lawyer to help you sort through the issues you describe. If you do not get a good lawyer to help you you could end up with mulitple warrants and multiple holds...sitting in jail.

How about you consider a lawsuit against the thief? You can file in Magistrate (small claims) court. Suing the DA is not a viable option for many reasons in my opinion.

Whether you should just pay the fine or depends on what the rest of your driving record looks like. If this is your first ticket then your situation is vastly different from someone with multiple moving violations in their history. I have included a link to the GA DDS points system webpage to help you see where you are.
