Rhys Wilson is a partner and Co-Leader of the national Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group of Nelson, Mullins, Riley & Scarborough LLP, one of the country’s largest law firms. His peers have selected him as a Georgia Super Lawyer® in Mergers & Acquisitions. Rhys has been a member of Vistage Group 155 in Atlanta since 1996.

 

Rhys speaks regularly to CEOs and other corporate leaders about critical business and legal issues. He is known for his work in industry consolidations. The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth is using his article on Roll-Ups and Other Consolidation Plays as part of the course materials in its Private Equity Finance course.

 

Rhys started practicing law in 1979. He also spent three years as Senior Vice-President of a merchant banking firm and two years as President of a health care staffing company. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Technology Angels and The Atlanta Opera.

 

Rhys earned an LL.M. in Tax from Emory University School of Law in 1985. He earned a J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1979. While in law school, he was named to the Order of the Coif and Phi Kappa Phi, and served on the Editorial Board and as a Senior Editor of the Georgia Law Review. Rhys earned an A.B. degree from Duke University in 1976, where he was an A.J. Fletcher Scholar and a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society.
