I hired this attorney to deal with my foreclose issue. Paid him $5,000 and never received a call or an email given us the status of what he had done or what was filed in court on our behalf. He constantly request delays in court, because he was not prepared for the case. He blames his wrong doings on his staff(most of them have left) and doesn't take responsibility for taking your monies and not handling your case as a capable attorney.
I hired Thompson Law Group, what a mistake. When I first started looking for an attorney to represent us on our pending foreclosure case, I had seen a news clip of the "Robin Hood" attorney who was helping people with fighting the banks. I immediately searched for bad reviews on him but could not find any, so I felt like he was the one. Hired him to do a quiet title, because I felt that this was the sure way to a fair decision in our case. The judges are clearly on the bank's side. He lied, he never filed the quiet title but was billing us constantly for it. In addition to the $6000 we already paid. He waited till the day of the FC sale to ask for a TRO and injunction and of course the judge denied it. So there was an appeal filed and while awaiting the judge's decision I happen to check the docket and see that our case had a voluntary dismissal with prejudice. What??? No word from my "lawyer". So long story short I paid for nothing. His staff turnover is unreal, every week I call, someone new answers and the person i want to speak with is no longer with the company.
Robert T. Thompson Jr. and Law Firm Thompson Law Group, LLC, did not meet deadlines in reference to pending foreclosure case. Came across his info from a news report where he represented a couple in a pending foreclosure. He required a lump sum non refundable payments up front of at least $5,000 plus cost of $1,000 for a loan audit and what you pay him for he did not do. Never got a copy of purported audit and the specific tasks that he was paid for, he did not do. Deadlines had to be met that were not met; no return phone calls or e-mail communication;turnover of staff and internal problems created loss of funds paid to him and then had nerve to ask for additional $5,000 lump sum money to do the action he was actually paid to do. Requested to be paid the additional $5,000 additional money after he was fired. After he did not render service for money that was paid and I asked for an appointment that was set, I was barred from getting through lock door and shortly thereafter, he moved to another location. As I advised another acquaintance who was about to give him money, Run Forrest Run as far away from this attorney as you can.
Got involved with Robert Thompson over three years ago for a modification on my home. We have given him over $16,000.00 and still no loan mod. He asked us for a additional $10K to keep fighting after not going to court to fight BOA. We fired him and had to take the loss. I think he is real good at tying the case up in court but when it comes to a real answer he does nothing. I also know of another person that lost $5k to him involving the same type of work(loan mod) on a home that the owner never got anywhere with him and also fired him. Do not use him. While using his service we have been to three different offices that he has leased and also his home, leading me to believe he has other problems with his leasing agreements.
Mr. Thompson missed important deadlines. I had to file Bar Complaint and hire another Attorney to take-over case. Still awaiting refund of retainer.
Save your money and pay ANYONE other than Robert Thompson. Oh and when your case is dismissed due to a shoddy or non-response, and you find yourself out of your home and totally out of money, all you will get from this so-called litigator is an endless array of bizarre and irrelevant excuses (where he will typically blame you or ask for more $), or if you're lucky you'll be spared and get the silent treatment.
Don't think for a minute that the $5,000 supposed "flat-fee" is all you will end up paying; as he will justify a 10 minute phone call to opposing counsel or a cut and paste letter as having 'earned' the retainer. Look elsewhere for a competent, honest litigator that actually adheres to the courts rules, doesn't blow deadlines, will show up to court, and will actually provide adequate representation even AFTER the ink on the check has dried.
