No assemblage of words can do justice to Rachel's skills as a lawyer and her virtues as a person. My lawyer during a protracted, complicated, and unexpected custody case, Rachel transformed a nightmare into a workable resolution. She was brilliant, bold, strategic, and creative in action. She has a rare ability to focus on small details and the "big picture" at once. She is such a phenomenal communicator -- whether she is listening, writing, or speaking -- that she accomplishes more in 20 minutes than others do in an hour. She IS busy (who wants to retain a lawyer with too few cases?), but her laser foci & clear communications often made me feel that I was her only client. She never dropped the ball. She was always ON. Her strong moral compass and her work as a GAL helped keep my daughter's needs in the foreground of every decision. What makes Rachel one-of-a-kind is that she is also kind, empathetic, warm, and funny. No matter how dark or difficult the situation, Rachel brightened the mood with laughter, lightness, and seasoned--but-sound advice. Given how soul-numbing family law can feel if you're ensnared in a case, this is no small feat! Like other reviewers, I came to view Rachel as a friend. If you are looking for a fantastic family lawyer who is well-respected by her peers, roundly admired by her clients, and who practices law for all the right reasons, you're in luck. Rachel is the one!
I'm a 30 yr old black man who has been trying to get custody of my 10 yr old son forth part 8 yrs. Then I found Rachel. Rachel was just the person I needed at a very hard time in my life. I've hired other attorneys in the past and none of them were even close to Rachel and the help she gave me. Like i mentioned I had been battling 8 yrs for custody of my son and now I have full custody. Rachel was very knowledgeable about the system and was always there when I had a question. I never thought I would get custody of my son and Rachel showed me that there are people in this world that care about complete strangers. So all I can say is Rachel is the Bomb.com with some awesome sauce on the side. Thank you Rachel for everything you've done for my family and I.
P.S. Kendrell is thriving in baseball.
Rachel helped guide me through a difficult time in dealing with a child custody issue. Her honesty and deliberate approach was very beneficial in my case.
At one of the most difficult times in my life I was fortunate enough to come across stellar reviews about Rachel. With some hesitation I made an inquiry to her and was blown awake by her candid yet timely response. She was very direct and to the point... But I wasn't quite sure I was ready to face the reality of divorce. Months later, with a newborn baby, I contacted Rachel for representation and I'm so glad I did. Though I bought a unique situation to her and practice, they worked collaboratively and were able to assist me in achieving a swift agreement, dissolving my bigamous marriage. It was by far the most outlandish situation I had ever been involved in and Rachel made the process easy and as painless as possible. She genuinely cared and didn't make me feel as though I was a nuisance which I'm sure I had become... We were able to get to mediation and dissolve my marriage in about 45 days. Rachel listened to what I was asking for though she may have had apprehensive, we were able to walk out of mediation with great relief. I will likely need to use Rachel again as issues with my previously dissolved marriage may linger but I'm fortunate enough to have found an amazing attorney.
I reached out to Rachel for advice involving a potential future case and am very pleased with her response time and level of detail. While I'm not needing to fully retain her services quite yet (fingers crossed), if the situation progresses, I certainly will be. Her years of knowledge and experience are evident and her respectful nature with such sensitive subjects is appreciated. She's a rare find int he legal world and I'm thankful to have found her when I did.

The process of modification of child custody is long and hard. Rachel jumped in and took over my case which turned out to be multiple cases, for a very reasonable rate especially for her many years experience.
Being inexperienced with attorneys at the time I retained Rachel, I had no idea how much experience and knowledge Rachel gives to her clients. I wasn't an easy client and she answered my ridiculous emails and calls in such a timely manner. She looks out for the best interest of her clients.
She is not in family law for the money. She is passionate about her work and cares about what is right. Too many family attorneys are in this nasty business for the wrong reasons. They ruin lives and families all for money. Not Rachel! Rachel truly cares for the right reasons.
If you are going through a child custody modification you have to realize it takes time and it isn't anyone's fault. I was naive and thought she should have been able to get me in front of a judge the next day. I got frustrated and was very emotional. Foolishly I retained a different legal group. The worst decision of my life. If I wasn't so emotional and knew what the other attorneys were like, I would have known that I was a fool.
When I did tell her I didn't want her representation any more. She was kind and helpful. She is a great person and a great attorney. She is very experienced and it shows. You can not do this process without some one who specializes in what she does. She looks out for your best interest.
During a horrible time in my life, she was quick to respond, very professional about my ridiculous emails, and just truly amazing. I really want everyone to know that if you find her page here on AVVO.... Stop and don't go to anyone else. You have found the perfect attorney. Believe me, I know.
Thanks Rachel. You are one of the few family attorneys who do your work in an honest way. I appreciate everything you have done for me. I can't thank you enough. I also can't stress enough about how much knowledge she has in a very complicated law area.

Rachel was very kind, approachable and understanding of my situation. At our first meeting, she patiently listened to my story and understood the background and culture I was coming from. She walked me through the process and helped me get over my fear of going through the legal proceedings. She made me feel like I was not alone and gave me practical and effective advice during some very difficult and emotionally charged times.
Rachel is very knowledgeable, experienced and talented. I highly recommend her services.

I have worked with many different attornies through my past divorces and in my professional career. I also have an attorney as a sibling.
After reading all of the reviews on this website I hired Rachel. I have never seen a more attentive, compassionate, caring, smart, and tough attorney.
I hired Rachel to help me with getting a fair visitation schedule and cost sharing for travel expenses with my children when my ex-wife refused cooperate on eirher and we both moved further away.
Rachel would promptly answer all my questions. Several times I would email her late at night and have a response waiting from her the next morning when I woke up. She would take her time and explain everything to me when I had questions or did not understand. She would let me vent during times when I would get frustrated, but most important tell what I needed to hear versus what I wanted to hear.
When it came time for mediation we got everything we asked for and more. It became crystal clear that not only did the mediator respect her and her reputation but so did the opposing attorney. She clearly outsmarted, outclassed, was smarter and tougher than the opposing attorney.
Rachel was not only my attorney but my friend. I know how hard and uneasy it is to rely on a website for such an important decision but you will not regret hiring Rachel. It was the best decision I made.

I went in for a consultation with Rachel about what I perceived to be a complex problem. Within 20 minutes, she had diagnosed my situation and made recommendations as to my next course of action in a very lucid dialogue. All in all, my experience was fantastic.

Rachel was my divorce attorney. I have two children and feared a complicated split from my husband. We had recently moved to GA when we decided to separate and had to wait six months before we could file. She was there to handle issues that arose during the interim period and handled everything once we did file. She put my mind at ease by explaining the laws and how things would play out. During mediation she stopped me before I agreed to things that I hadn't thought through thoroughly. She was also there for me as a person and was warm and compassionate! I definitely felt like she genuinely cared for my (and my children's) well being! I'm hoping I never need her services again but if I do, she's the only one I would go to!
