Jess Davis is a medical malpractice trial lawyer representing victims of medical negligence in courts throughout Georgia and the Southeast. He has recovered millions of dollars for his clients by successfully litigating a wide variety of healthcare-related cases, and is often called upon by other attorneys to handle complex medical malpractice trials.
Jess has earned Martindale-Hubbel’s AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rating, the highest rating available for legal ability and professional ethics. In 2012 he was one of only three lawyers in Georgia—and the only lawyer in the metropolitan Atlanta area—selected by his peers as a Super Lawyer “Rising Star” in the category of medical malpractice. Atlanta Magazine has named him as one the “Top Young Attorneys in Georgia,” and The National Trial Lawyers selected him as one of the “Top 100 Trial Lawyers” in Georgia for 2012.
Jess has litigated numerous types of medical malpractice cases across a broad spectrum of the healthcare industry, including failure to diagnose bacterial infections such as meningitis and necrotizing fasciitis; negligent maternal fetal medicine and OB/GYN care resulting in stillborn and seriously injured children; failure to timely diagnose various types of cancer; surgical and anesthesiology errors resulting in severe neurological damage; failure to diagnose fatal, post-surgery conditions such as sepsis and peritonitis; substandard orthopedic surgeries involving the hip, knee and spine; chiropractic malpractice resulting in stroke and other debilitating injuries; and negligent nursing home/assisted living care resulting in death.
Prior to founding Davis Adams, Jess was a member of the Litigation & Trial Practice Group at Alston & Bird, an Am Law 100 firm, where he focused primarily on antitrust litigation. He has published articles on the subject of predatory bidding, and was a contributor to the preeminent antitrust law treatise, Antitrust Advisor, as well as the American Bar Association’s seven-volume “In-House Counsel’s Essential Toolkit.”
Jess maintains an active pro bono practice, and regularly provides legal services at no charge to the refugee community in Clarkston, Ga. and to animal welfare organizations throughout the southeast through the Animal Rescue Legal Society, which he founded in 2005 after participating in animal rescue efforts in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina.
Born and raised in Columbus, Ga., Jess now lives with his wife and three children in Decatur, Ga. He is a member of First Baptist Church of Decatur, where he serves as a deacon and on numerous service-oriented committees. Jess also serves on the Board of Directors for The Community School, a nationally recognized school geared toward autistic adolescents and young adults. When he is not practicing law, Jess can almost always be found with his family, often coaching, playing, or watching some type of sports with his boys and baby girl.
