I endorse this lawyer. When I took appointed cases in Fulton County, Georgia years ago she was one of two public defenders in the late Judge Joel Fryer's courtroom. She had the courage not to accept more cases, by telling Judge Fryer, "no more." For a non-lawyer this may seem like a strange thing to say to a judge but any decent criminal lawyer will tell you that each case takes at least a minimum (or a lot more) amount of factual and legal analysis which the client rarely sees. She had so many felony cases with individuals' freedom at stake that she felt that she could do a good enough job with the number of cases she already had responsibility for. This protestation to the judge took courage but it needed to happen. Georgia is still suffering from an indigent defense crisis but her protests to the late Joel Fryer, a tough judge for most who argued cases before him, started the ball rolling in the right direction.
