    Hired attorney

Howard Weintraub have defended my young adult daughter on three separate felony and misdemeanor cases in Fulton County, Georgia Superior Court and State Court and in Gwinnett County, Georgia Superior Court. In each case, Howard reached an extremely successful result sparing my daughter from any jail time. Throughout my relationship with Howard, I have found he is extremely knowledgeable, professional, very accessible to my telephone calls and emails and very caring for my daughter and me. They also worked with us regarding the fees that they charged us for the three separate cases as they reduced their fees to help us with our limited financial resources to fight these three legal battles. My daughter had substance abuse problems, which was the cause of her three criminal cases. She has been sober from alcohol and free from drugs now for almost a year and she is very well in college in Florida. I truly believe that the legal efforts and successful handling of my daughter's three cases by Howard Weintraub saved my daughter and enabled my daughter to turn her life around. For this, my daughter and I are forever eternally grateful to Howard.
Howard Weintraub is wonderful, caring, compassionate lawyers, and I highly recommend them to anyone needing to hire aggressive and honest criminal defense lawyers. God bless you Howard for saving my daughter.

    Hired attorney

He seems like a nice man but he extended our case for over a year & nothing came of it we had to hire a new attorney & in 4 months if everything was taken care of and it all came out great our new lawyer did not try to take all our money it was half the price & the eventual outcome after only four months was great mr. Weintraub just let it go on and on and on and on and in the end did nothing except charge us a lot of money I would let you publish my name but he would try to find a way to sue me for something stay away from this attorney

Howard J. Weintraub’s response: “The Internet provides people with a productive forum for sharing genuine information, including commenting upon the quality of services they receive from professionals such as attorneys. Unfortunately, the Internet also enables an individual to post false and misleading statements about someone, hiding behind the wall and protection of anonymity. It is impossible for any attorney, including me, to respond to an anonymous posting attacking his services. I do not even know if this comment is from an actual client. Nonetheless, contrary to the content in the comment, I can unequivocally state that throughout my 31 years of defending individuals, I never have "just let [my client's case] go on and on...and in the end did nothing". In this regard, everything that I do for any client is fully documented and, if I knew the identity of the writer of the above comment (assuming it is an actual past client), I can fully support herein, or in any other forum, everything that I did for this client. Also, I can fully establish herein, or in any other forum, that every dollar of the fee charged to this client was appropriately earned. I also can unequivocally state that my fees are extremely reasonable and totally in line with fees being charged by other attorneys with experience and qualifications similar to mine. Also, I clearly and definitely state that I never have charged any client even one dollar more than the agreed-upon contractual fee entered into between the client and me. As to another attorney supposedly obtaining a result more quickly than what was transpiring during my representation of this supposed client, I cannot begin to accurately address this statement without the disclosure of the client’s identity and receipt of information regarding the progression of that client’s case. What I can say, however, is that I give 150 percent of my time, experience and expertise to each and every client’s case. Every other client review on this site supports what I am saying herein. If the comment is written by an actual former client, I am sorry that this anonymous client was unhappy and did not feel able to address his/her dissatisfaction directly with me, rather than posting an after-the-fact anonymous review. The comment ends with the claim that the writer is electing to remain anonymous because, if I knew his/her identity, I would "sue [the writer] for something". As the writer surely knows, truth is an absolute defense to being sued for libel and slander. Therefore, if what he/she has written about me is true, I would not have any basis to sue that person. Indeed, the writer's concern about me suing him/her, clearly demonstrates the falsity and misleading nature of this comment.”

Back in September of 2014, my fiancé was notified that he was in violation of probation for leaving the state without permission. Because we knew this could mean potentially serious jail time as he is a registered sex offender, we began searching for a good criminal attorney. We found the Law Offices of Weintraub and Alper and gave them a call and we were in their office the next day which was the end of September. Howard and Benjamin were so helpful and genuinely nice we knew and had faith that they could help my fiancé. My fiancé was not taken to jail until December 2014 for the probation revocation. As soon as this happened Ben went straight to work for us by reaching out to the probation officer and gathering up all of the necessary information to explain why my fiancé did not need to be behind bars. The probation officer was going to recommend my fiancé serve six months for the violation but because Ben and Howard worked so hard the day of the court hearing (March 2015) Ben convinced the probation officer to go with three months and the probation officer said he would see what he could do. Long story short, the judge agreed to the three months and my fiancé was released a week later! Had it not been for Ben and Howard my fiancé would have had to serve six months in jail possibly more. I am forever grateful for their assistance and aggressiveness to bring my fiancé home.

I would like to also add that my fiancé and I are working class citizens and could not afford all of the fees up front but Ben and Howard worked with us until we paid the balance in full. They were never rude about it or anything and I appreciate them for that as well.

I would highly recommend anyone needing a criminal attorney to contact their office because they are the best!

After finding out I had a Failure To Appear on a citation that I had previously paid, I called Howard. Through his determination, he got the bench warrant dropped, and gave me my freedom back! It was wonderful that they kept in touch every step of the way, Howard even called me on his personal time to see how I was doing. If you want Attorney's who show genuine compassion for your situation, has your back, and will fight for you as if you were a family member, call Howard & Ben!

With the current state of affairs with police officers and Black American, as the parents of a young Black male that has never, ever, been in trouble with the law and had just graduated from a prestigious University in Atlanta Georgia, it was mind boggling when he was pulled over in Georgia for what I feel was being “Black and driving a nice car”, it was the most frighten thing for us to get a call from our son stating that he had been arrested.
He was taken to a police station and was not allowed to call his parents. It was only through persistent calling to the police station that we found out that he needed a telephone account to make calls outside the jail to his parents. We didn’t know the charges, reason, or what was happening to our son. I immediately started to research the lawyers in that area that could handle this case and tell us what was going on with our son. We contacted the Law office of Howard J. Weintraub at 11:45 p.m. We knew it was very late and was hoping to receive a call from him the next morning but approximately 30 minutes later at 12:15 a.m., Howard called us in regards to our son. We were totally shocked that a lawyer would call us at that early time of the morning. Howard did not make any guarantees or promises to us. He explained the legal process to us and told us what to expect. He met with our son at 8:30 a.m. that same morning and went over the case with him and with us. Once again, he never made any guarantees or promises to us or to our son but he did say that he would do everything in his power to get the charges reduced and eventually dismissed. Our son was facing felony drug charges and vehicle violations (tint to dark in car).
After our son returned home, we were thankful that he did not end up hurt, beaten, or worst dead as a result of what happened on interstate 85 with these police officers. Howard and Ben were a life saver and life line to us and the legal system. Howard never panicked, worried or stressed but kept us focused on taking care of our son and he and his partner, Ben, taking care of this case.
Race, social economic status, education, or religion did not matter to Howard and Ben, only ensuring that our son got the best possible legal representation. They fought for our son as if he was their very own relative and they always followed up with us 2-3 times a week letting us know what was going on with his case. I know that isn’t the norm for lawyers but it was for Howard and Ben.
In the end, all felony charges have been dropped and he was approved for a diversion program and once that is complete, his record will be expunged. Howard and Ben did assure us that their work would not be completed until every “I” was dotted and every “T” was crossed for our son and his record is expunged.
If you want a lawyer that will speak the truth, not BS you, and fight for your rights, then you want Howard and Ben as your lawyers. It’s not a black or white thing for them, it’s the right thing. This amazing Atlanta law firm looked beyond race and saw our needs…….and we thank God every day for them. They will always be a part of our family.

  • THE GOVERNMENT STOLE MY MONEY, HOWARD WEINTRAUB AND BENJAMIN ALPER GOT IT BACK!

Several months ago, I found out that the United States Government had seized my bank account and thousands of dollars of my money even though I had done nothing wrong. I had no idea what to do or how to fight back. I also feared the Government might try to bring criminal charges against me! I contacted The Law Offices of Howard J. Weintraub, P.C. and quickly retained them to help me. Howard and Ben were great throughout the process. They spoke to me for hours about my case and had me put together lots of documentation in support of my defense. After all, this was my hard-earned money! Howard and Ben initially calmed my fears by convincing the prosecutor not to pursue any criminal charges against me. However, they would not settle for that and demanded that the Government return my money. After several rounds of negotiations, Howard and Ben convinced the Federal Prosecutor to return every cent of my money! I cannot thank Howard and Ben enough. They took a very stressful situation and took care of me and got me the best outcome possible. If you ever need an attorney, contact Howard and Ben immediately!

  • Potential Federal Problems

HOWARD WEINTRAUB AND BENJAMIN ALPER ARE PHENOMENAL ATTORNEYS

I am the owner of a business that is highly scrutinized by both Federal and State of Georgia regulatory agencies. It is my obligation to be fully aware of the morass of regulations, wherein a knowing violation of a rule can expose me to both civil penalties and a criminal prosecution, that could place me in prison.

Last year I found myself in a situation wherein it may have been deemed by federal government attorneys that I had violated a regulation involving my business. Although I truly believed that the regulation did not apply to the situation I had been involved in, I nonetheless realized that government lawyers could conclude otherwise. Therefore, I called Atlanta criminal defense lawyer Howard Weintraub. Over the past several years, I had been Howard’s client for civil matters and he always accomplished successful resolutions of the particular matter. There was no doubt that Howard Weintraub and his partner Benjamin Alper were the go-to attorneys for this potential criminal prosecution.

After calling Howard, as is his usual and customary style, Howard and Ben immediately jumped into the case. After conferring with me to obtain a detailed understanding of the facts, Howard and Ben researched the federal and state statutes and regulations and they decided that I had not violated any laws. Howard and Ben then very quickly decided to confront the issue head on with federal government attorneys. They therefore brought the issue and my conduct to the attention of the federal government officials rather than waiting for the officials to perhaps someday notify me that I may have violated the law. A gutsy strategy to say the least, but one that I wholeheartedly endorsed as I was innocent of any knowing wrongdoing.

The strategy worked brilliantly and I received a clean bill of health from the government. I cannot thank Howard Weintraub and Benjamin Alper enough for their incredible representation of me. Although their services came with a financial cost to me, Howard Weintraub and Benjamin Alper are worth every dollar of their fee! I highly recommend Howard Weintraub and Benjamin Alper to anyone in need of highly gifted, aggressive and extremely dedicated lawyers who will fight to protect their clients.

    Thank you again.

I recently had a civil matter concerning my daughter. She had gotten involved with the wrong crowd, was under age, and 21 year old convicted drug felon guy decided that he was going to harrass her. I tried to work with Fayette county to obtain a restraining order. The only thing I received from Fayette county was a run around. The county was terrible and wouldn't even take the time to speak with me. They insisted that I hire an attorney in order to file for a simple restraining order. I was referred to Mr. Weintraub by a co-worker. Although Mr. Weintraub didn't practice in Fayette county, he took the time to educate me on how the legal process worked. With this knowledge, I was able to call the county and work around their incompetenance and/or lack of concern for taking care of their taxpayer. I was able to obtain a restraining order and the guy has backed away and is leaving us alone. During this process, Howard constantly followed up with me and asked how things were going. His compassion and numerious calls just to check and make sure things were okay and to see if I had any questions was some of the best customer service I have ever received. He genuinely cares about his clients. Once everything was said and done, he wouldn't even take a dime for his much needed assistance. I thank you, Mr. Weintraub, for being a kind, professional and compasionate human being and I am so greatful that you were there for me and my family.

In November 2013 I received the phone call , from my son, that no mother wants to receive. It was my 20-year-old, college sophomore, and he had been arrested in a small town in southern Georgia. He was pulled over for speeding and the officer said he smelled marijuana and searched the car. In the search a small amount of marijuana was discovered in one of the passengers back packs. Because no one claimed ownership of the drug all 5 people were arrested for possession and as the driver of the car criminal liability was placed on my son.
My son, who is an honors student, athlete and who had never been in trouble before was in jail for marijuana possession. His goal is to work for the State Department after graduating and this arrest could have a devastating impact on his future.
We needed a lawyer and we needed a GREAT one! Howard was recommended to us. The arrest happened over a weekend and we called and left a message on Saturday. Sunday morning bright and early Howard called us back. He actually apologized for not speaking to us on Saturday as he was at a family wedding! We talked for close to an hour and needless to say, that phone call left me with a sense of hope that I had not felt in 24 hours.
My son, husband and I met with Howard and Ben the next day. They spent a great deal of time getting to know my son and his character. They also discussed, at length, the charges and outlined a plan to get the charges dropped and expunged from his record. There was no guarantee but we left that meeting hopeful and knew we had the best lawyers on our side. Howard and Ben made us feel confident for our son's future.
The case dragged on for a year (small time court system) but the whole time Howard and Ben were in touch with us. We were given the best news before Christmas that our son would have to pay a speeding ticket and the drug charges were dropped and would be expunged from his record. He never even had to step foot in court. This happened just in time for him to be able to leave the country, last week, to study abroad for the semester.
Howard and Ben you saved our son's future! We are so grateful Thank you!
