In reference to my previous review about 5 months ago I had said that I would update my AVVO review as the case continued. Today I am pleased to say that I am the happiest man alive and that I owe my life and freedom to the Weintraub Team ! It has been a very long 7 months since my arrest, unsure of how my life would end up with this possible felony record hanging over my head. Throughout this time The Weintraub Team has worked tirelessly to get the results desired. A few days ago I received a call from Howard personally explaining to me that he was successful in getting the ADA to drop my case. WOW I was in complete shock ! He never made any promises to me about the case but always reassured me they would fight for me for the best result possible ! That is exactly what the TEAM has done ! I CAN'T POSSIBLY THINK OF A BETTER CHRISTMAS PRESENT AND BY FAR THE PERFECT WAY TO START A NEW YEAR ! Many THANKS go out to Howard, Ben, and Pat ! I don't believe there is another Law Firm out there that is as busy as The Weintraub Team yet stays in contact with their clients and keeps them updated as to the results of their current case as well as these guys do. If you have any question on who to hire for your criminal case, your search ends here ! I highly recommend the The Weintraub & Alper Team ! IT DOESN'T GET BETTER !!!!
Two months ago, I called The Law offices Of Howard J. Weintraub with a very heavy heart. My younger brother, my only brother had been picked up in New York City for Violation Of Probation. He was subsequently extradicted to Georgia where the original conviction took place.
My family and I didn't know where to turn as we live in NYC and were not familiar with any law firms in the Atlanta area. I spoke to several Atlanta attorneys - and then, I spoke to Howard Weintraub. Within 10 minutes, I knew this was the man my family and I wanted to represent my brother. I was so impressed with his sense of professionalism and his proposed strategy that I was confident he would prevail. My brother was facing serious prison time as this was his third arrest for the same criminal offense. The D.A. not only wanted a considerable amount of incarceration (up to 10 years) but he was determined to place a felony on my brother's record that would follow him for a lifetime.
Howard communicated his strategy to me in detail. He made no false promises but his plan for my brother's defense was brilliant.
My confidence and trust in him have proven to be right. Not only did my brother not get prison time but after the firm's presentation, the judge decided not to place a felony on his record.
My family and I are very grateful to the law firm of Howard J. Weintraub. They truly deserve the excellent ratings they receive. Howard Weintraub kept us informed and calm. He has a wonderful sense of humor and a total lack of pretention but when it comes to defending his clients, he knows how to go for the jugular.
I would highly recommend this firm to anyone who wants the best defense possible.
Thank you Howard.
As a former attorney, I have know many lawyers. Mr. Weintraub's knowledge of the law, the local legal community are unsurpassed in the Atlanta area. Further, Howard's ethics, honesty, dedication and concern for his clients, are unparalleled. Long after my need for legal assistance was over, Howard still checks on me from time to time, much like an brother would. I would recommend his services to anyone in need of counsel. Lastly, I would like to say," The Chief knows both sides!"
Several months ago, while I was driving my car in Georgia, I was pulled over in the afternoon by a police officer who claimed I had an improper level of tint in my windows. After speaking with me and the passengers in my car and with the officer claiming that he smelled an odor of marijuana, my passengers and I were ordered out of my car. A search of my car then took place and the police found a quantity of marijuana in the trunk, together with a firearm and a weighing scale. Although these items did not belong to me, the officer arrested me and I was facing felony charges of being in possession of a firearm during the commission of a drug offense and possessing marijuana with the intent to distribute. Although my car was occupied with two passengers, the police placed criminal liability on me.
As a young college graduate with a promising career ahead of me in the legal profession, I knew that this day had become a life-changing moment for me and I knew that I needed to retain formidable criminal defense lawyers in Atlanta to help me through this crisis. After making the dreaded telephone call from jail to my parents to advise them of my arrest (my first lifetime arrest) my parents searched for a criminal defense lawyer. At approximately 11 p.m. that evening my mother emailed the Law Offices of Howard J. Weintraub in Atlanta briefly stating my situation and requesting a call from the attorneys when the office opened the next day. To my parents’ amazement and relief, they received a telephone call from Attorney Howard Weintraub himself within a few minutes from when the email had been sent! Howard Weintraub spoke with my parents concerning the legal procedure that I was facing and he took great care at the midnight hour to allay their fears and anxiety. Mr. Weintraub discussed with my parents the law concerning vehicle stops and vehicle searches, and discussed other matters with them. Mr. Weintraub also commiserated with my parents about the devastating impact of the arrest on my future career and he offered relief to my parents by generating a plan – if it worked – that would enable me to forgo a conviction and have the arrest expunged from my record. Although he was careful not to guarantee this result, he was hopeful that he could pull it off. Guess what? Howard Weintraub and his partner Benjamin Black Alper pulled it off!
Howard and Ben hit the ground running the next day after I made bail and was released from jail. First, Ben and Howard met with me in their midtown Atlanta office for a conference that took several hours. At this meeting, Ben and Howard went through the facts of my case in painstaking detail. They also took the time and effort to learn about me and my background so that they could explain to the prosecutor that I was not a criminal. After the meeting I felt relieved and I was so thankful to have not one but two smart and tough lawyers in my corner.
Howard and Ben routinely kept in touch with me about my case and their progress. Howard and Ben explained that the first step would be to get the felony charges reduced to misdemeanor charges. The prosecutors initially offered to let me plead guilty to the felony charges with a sentence of five years of probation. Howard and Ben would not accept that. After a few more rounds of negotiations, Howard and Ben convinced the prosecutor to drop the charges to misdemeanors. A second prosecutor then came onto my case and offered to let me plead guilty to the misdemeanors with a sentence of one year probation. Howard and Ben would not accept that. After further negotiations and a lengthy presentation to the prosecutors about my character and background, Howard and Ben convinced the prosecutors to let me resolve my case by entering a pretrial diversion program, allowing the charges to be totally dismissed and the arrest expunged from my record: the best possible outcome! Throughout this ordeal, I was so impressed
My daughter recently became embroiled in civil litigation concerning a very large sum of money that she received through a business venture engaged in a few years earlier. This matter involved several hundreds of thousands of dollars and my daughter was facing certain financial hardship if she would lose this litigation and would then be ordered by the court to return the money. I was aware of Mr Weintraub's reputation as an exceptional lawyer. Although this was a civil case and Mr Weintraub is a Criminal Defense Attorney, my daughter wanted Mr. Weintraub to represent her. We asked him to consider taking on our case, and he did not hesitate for a moment. Within two days of commencing his representation,Mr. Weintraub fully analyzed all the pertinent facts and documents and all the legal defenses available for my daughter. He also designed a very sound strategy that would enable her to prevail and retain the large sum of money in question. This strategy proved to be successful and because of Mr. Weintraub's excellent skills, my daughter has not been required to return even one dollar!!
We are so grateful to Attorney Weintraub for helping us. We found Mr. Weintraub to be extremely professional, courteous, empathetic, and most importantly, extremely knowledgeable. Also, contrary to the belief that lawyers are out only for the money, Mr. Weintraub was not at all driven by the money, and his fee arrangement was very fair. He never promised that we would be victorious, but he did promise that he would do everything in his power to help my daughter. He kept us informed at each stage of the proceedings and delivered on his promise. I highly recommend Howard Weintraub to anyone needing a formidable advocate who is an honest and caring lawyer.
Last year a man I was dating unsuspecting was convicted with a felony. It was a serious offense that would dramatically affect his life and result in jail time. I contacted Howard Weintraub to see if he could help my friend who was frightened and confused about how to proceed.. Mr. Weintraub spoke to him and his family and explained much of the procedural information that the family needed in order to make decisions about how to proceed. He spent a great deal of time without any financial renumeration. We are grateful that Mr Weintraub calmed our fears and helped guide us in the right direction. I would not hesitate to call on him if we needed an extremely smart, capable and kind attorney who knows the law inside and out.
HOWARD JARRETT WEINTRAUB: RESCUED MY GRANDSON
Howard Jarrett Weintraub rescued my grandson from having a felony conviction on his record and his fee was very reasonable to have my grandson come out of his criminal prosecution without a felony on his record.
My grandson was stopped by the county police for a broken tail light. The officer searched his car and found a small amount of marijuana and an unmarked bottle of narcotic controlled substance pills. My grandson did not know the bottle of pills was in his car. My husband was a chronic pain sufferer and carried a bottle of his pain medicine with him at all times. He carried his pain medicine in an unmarked bottle due to past experiences with having his medicine stolen. My grandson, his daughter and my husband had been to a store and rather than carry the medicine into the store, my husband put the bottle in the glove box of my grandson’s car. My husband forgot (which was not out of character for him) to remove the bottle when they returned home.
My grandson was indeed guilty of possessing the marijuana (a misdemeanor), but he was not guilty of possessing the controlled substance pills. The controlled substance pills would have created a felony on my grandson’s record and he was charged with having the unmarked bottle of controlled substance pills in his possession. Because of Howard’s quick thinking and perseverance that did not happen.
At first, the prosecutor would not agree to dismiss the felony charge. Howard, however, worked with my grandson and instructed my husband to get a prescription list from his pharmacy and Howard had him write a statement for the court stating that the medication belonged to him, explaining why the bottle was left in my grandson’s car and explaining why he had them in an unmarked bottle. Because of Howard’s attention to details and his plan of action the felony charge was dismissed and my grandson does not have a felony on his record.
Although Howard Weintraub handles many major federal prosecutions throughout the country and defends many people for serious charges such as murder, drugs, sexual offenses, etc., Howard treated my case as if we were his only client. Every phone call to him was promptly and courteously answered in a very timely manner.
As we left the courtroom, several people commented to my grandson and to me that we had made a wise decision in choosing Howard Weintraub to represent my grandson in his case.
I highly recommend Howard Jarrett Weintraub and I will be forever very thankful that he handled my grandson’s case.
God bless you Howard.
Thank you Howard.
I have known Howard Weintraub both as an employee and as a client. In both experiences, he has been the most professional, caring and compassionate attorney that I have known. In the winter of 2012, my son was in the hospital for having been stabbed by his girlfriend. He was in the hospital's area where patients who are going to be sent to jail are housed. I called Howard in a panic because my son was accused of a crime he did not commit and he was hurt badly in addition. Howard went to the hospital and spoke with my son, eventually managing to get the charges dropped.
It was a terrifying experience for my family but Howard was there to walk us through the process, answer all our questions and quiet our fears.
I have worked for many attorneys and I have never worked for someone who is as brilliant, compassionate and productive as Howard. He works tirelessly for every client, researching and examining every aspect of their cases. His outcomes are amazing because of the diligent work of Attorney Weintraub and his staff.
Howard is highly ethical, knowledgeable, trustworthy and responsible for giving you the best representation money can buy.
If you hire Attorney Weintraub you can be assured that you are with the very best attorney.
HOWARD WEINTRAUB IS AN ATTORNEY WITH RESOLUTENESS, ENDURANCE AND INTESTINAL FORTITUDE
A very close friend of mine recently was charged with criminal offenses in Georgia and he retained attorneys Howard Jarrett Weintraub and Benjamin Black Alper to represent him. During the course of the case, I came to know Howard very well and it became clear to me that Howard and Ben did a phenomenal job representing their client. The case was extremely challenging because of the personalities of the defendant and the State’s witnesses, including the alleged victim in the case. From first-hand knowledge of observing Howard in his office during his never-ending laborious trial preparation, as well as observing him in the courtroom during an evidentiary hearing, I certainly can attest herein to the resoluteness, endurance, and intestinal fortitude of Howard when it comes to representing his clients. I highly recommend Attorneys Howard Weintraub and Benjamin Alper to anyone in need of tough, yet compassionate, criminal defense lawyers.
As always, all of the staff at the Law Offices of Howard J. Weintraub are extremely professional. I must, however, single out one in particular who “voluntarily” worked exceptionally hard for my son’s case functioning through countless hours for 4 years while including us in his work schedule and coming to the aid for my son and I without asking for a single penny!
This is “Howard Weintraub.”
My belief is that Mr. Weintraub holds firmly to the conviction that if it is worth doing, it is worth doing it right. It is fair to say that without his assistance, I wouldn’t have known what to do; this was in October, 2010.
At the time we could not retain Mr. Weintraub as our family attorney due to financial issues; but that didn’t stop him from donating an unlimited amount of concern and energy for my son’s case.
His unwavering assistance during our time of need have left a profound effect on me and my family and have restored faith in Humanity.
Thank you for your outstanding support!
