Prior to starting her own law firm, Rachel spent almost two years working as an associate at a mid-size criminal defense firm in Atlanta, GA. There, she gained extensive courtroom experience, handling hundreds of criminal cases and bringing more than 20 of them to trial. In March 2015, Rachel tried the most important case of her career thus far--She tried a week-long murder trial in Fulton County and won. The jury came back with "NOT GUILTY" verdicts on both murder counts after almost 20 hours of deliberation. The experience inspired her to start her own practice so she can provide the most holistic, aggressive representation to those who need her.
During law school, Rachel had a summer internship and two-semester field placement at the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office. There, she assisted in handling felony cases with guidance and training from seasoned prosecutors. The time she spent at the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office broadened perspective into the criminal justice system and led her to a career in criminal defense. Each day, she uses the wisdom she gained during the experience to guide her clients and zealously advocate for them in and out of court.
Rachel is a graduate of Emory University School of Law. There, Rachel founded Emory’s Student Animal Legal Defense Fund chapter. Additionally, she served as the Vice President of the Criminal Law Society and worked as an articles and symposium editor for the Emory International law Review. Prior to attending law school, Rachel interned at the Humane Society of the United States in their Government Affairs division. She also spent five months in Lima, Peru, volunteering at an animal shelter and practicing her Spanish skills.
Rachel received her undergraduate degree in Spanish and Political Science from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.Although she is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, she is proud to call Atlanta, Georgia her home. When Rachel is not working, she enjoys painting, yoga, and being with her family (which includes her dogs, Clyde and Leon, and her cat, Kyrie).
