I am assuming that Tim and Jack talked and thought it would be a great idea to pool their money and hire "one great lawyer". While it does sound more economical, it would not be in your best interest to have one lawyer. Everyone has the same goal to stay out of jail. So make sure everyone hires their own experienced criminal defense attorney. Even if you cannot afford one, you will be appointed an attorney. Appointed lawyers are just as experienced and have a duty to zealously represent you...

He will likely be charged with petit theft. Since he returned the property, there will likely not be any restitution to be paid. Additionally, since it was his first offense he may be eligible for a pre-trial diversion program. Hire an attorney. Your attorney can speak to the prosecutor before your court date and negotiate a good deal.

Likely, there is something else going on and the case is still being investigated. Also, there is probably more evidence involved than what you think. The police department is not obligated to release any information that they have on your friend. The person that would have the most information would be his attorney. Make sure that you limit what you are saying during your jail visits. Anything said can be used against your friend in court.

The more complicated the case, the longer it will take to go to trial. This is because both sides have to prepare. This includes investing the incident as well as interviewing numerous witnesses. It can take a few years for the trial to occur. In your case, someone is charged with murder. Thus, it may take a few years for the trial to occur. Your friend needs to be emancipated if she wants to come live with you. You have to be emancipated in order to move out of your parent's house. Once you file for emancipation, a judge will determine whether you are fit to live on your own. The court looks at a variety of factors such as your maturity level, whether you can support yourself financially, that your welfare is better served by not being with your parents, and that there are no other reasonable solutions living at home. Having your...

Depending of the test you have been given, your probation officer may or may not look for weed in your urine test. The best way to avoid the presence of weed is to not do it at all. Being on probation should give you some incentive. If you test positive, you run the risk of having the remainder of your probation revoked.
