FELONY POSSESSION DRUG & FIREARMS CHARGES DISMISSED
Posted by: a Criminal Defense client, 5 months ago.
On Thanksgiving morning 2012, I was arrested in Douglasville, GA for felony drug possession. I was a passenger on my way to what I thought was a day of hunting. After a quick stop to pick up the hunting rifles, we were on our way. What I did not know was the vehicle I was in contained drugs. On I-20, the Douglas Co. FIND unit pulled us over. They immediately searched the vehicle where they found marijuana and methamphetamine, which now made the rifles a felony. The driver/owner of the vehicle would not claim responsibility and though I had no knowledge of the drugs, they arrested me on the spot. This was my first arrest and it was terrifying! The law states that you are innocent until proven guilty. Well, when you’re caught with meth and guns in Douglasville, it’s just not true! After discussing my case with several attorneys around the Carroll and Douglas Co area, I contacted Mr. Trapp. He was impressive from the start. His matter of fact approach to the law and no nonsense attitude immediately set him apart from the competition. His retainer fee was a little higher than other attorneys were, but after consulting with him, the benefits were obvious. He was very specific and informative with his explanation of the criminal defense process. His office even provided Allen’s book, a survival guide to criminal law, which I found very helpful in such a confusing and desperate time. Mr. Trapp and his staff went to work immediately. The defense process is a slow painful one but Mr. Trapp’s office does an incredible job of communicating with their clients. When it came time to show up in court Mr. Trapp was there early to greet me. Many people have told me that it is always a good idea to find a lawyer who is familiar with the court and the personal that work there. Well, in the Douglas Co. Courthouse they know Allen! He is at home in his element and a dominant figure in the courtroom. These courtrooms are a tight knit society and Allen knows exactly how to handle himself. His knowledge of criminal law is extensive but there is more to it than that. Allen Trap has a reputation and it is a good one. He is the consummate professional and he treats people with respect. Allen Trapp really is more than just a lawyer, he is a strategist and a wolf in sheep’s clothing! His calm nature and consoling approach has another side to it. When the time comes and in court, it definitely will, Allen Trap can be a bulldog. There is method to everything he does whether in court or in the office. He knows when to speak and when to hold his ground. I cannot stress this enough, Trapp’s reputation as a trial lawyer is invaluable. With Mr. Trapp’s representation, the District Attorney seemed to lack the evidence to move forward or go to trial. Incredibly, Mr. Trap forced them to dismiss all charges against me. There is no way to express the relief I feel knowing how close I came to being convicted for a crime I did not commit. I have to express my gratitude for Allen Trapp and his entire staff. There is justice after all and Allen Trapp is the attorney that can bring it to your case. If you are reading this trying to decide on an attorney, do not procrastinate any longer. Pick up the phone and contact Allen Trapp’s office immediately.
Being comfortable in an uncomfortable position...

I cannot thank Allen Trapp enough for all he and his staff did to help our son. Not a position any parent wants to be in, trust me. I felt that everyone in his office was professional and put our minds at ease. After a year of back and forth our prayers were answered. I know without his help that justice would have not prevailed. Thank you to you and your lovely staff for making me feel comfortable in a uncomfortable position.
Noble, knowledgeable, experienced and passionate!!

Mr. Trapp defended our family with a sense of nobility and courage. He is an experienced attorney who knows the law and is able to boil down the circumstances of a case to its essence and articulates his points in a manner that everyone in the courtroom can understand. Mr. Trapp agreed to defend our family and believed in our case and carried a confidence and courage throughout the procedures that made us proud to have him on our side. His obvious passion for justice exudes from his pores as he argues his points in the courtroom. I consider our family fortunate to have found Mr. Trapp and will forever be grateful for his service.
Excellent DUI/DWI attorney.

Mr. Trapp laid out my DUI case in an easy to understand manner and gave me my options. After proceeding through the case, we finally got to the point of choosing the jury to go to trial. At that point, the state offered a plea deal down to reckless which helped to save my job and thus, my income and house. He might not hold your hand through every single encounter, (calender calls), with the judicial system but his staff is outstanding in filling any gaps. His staff can be reached at any time and is most courteous and always answer the phone. Very sweet people. Mr. Trapp demonstrated a thorough knowledge of the case. He is well worth the money it cost. In fact, it most likely would have cost me much more if I hadn't utilized his services. I saw other cases of his in court at the same time as time and saw them also get settled with excellent results. He obtained the services of "expert" witness (chemist) to help at the time of trial. Luckily, we didn't need him. I can't recommend him enough. I must have spoken to a dozen attorneys before choosing Mr. Trapp and he was easily the best attorney. The results confirmed that.
Excellent DUI Attorney!

Mr. Trapp was completely honest and forthright from the onset. He laid out my case in understandable terms and my chances of a favorable outcome. During the motion hearing he presented an excellent case on my behalf which resulted in a plea agreement that enabled me to walk away with a misdemeanor and a new lease on life. I also had the opportunity to listen to another motion he presented to the court for someone else and was thoroughly impressed with his knowledge and abilities. I cannot recommend him enough!
Definitely the Go To Guy
Posted by: a DUI client, about 1 year ago.
For those of you who find yourselves in a bind, please let me tell you about the Go To Guy (it's his license plate), Mr Allen Trapp Jr: After reviewing the facts of my case, Mr. Trapp laid out his strategy and explained the possible outcomes of my case. He didn't leave any possibilities out. I was impressed by his passion, knowledge, and integrity during this free consultation. I felt that he was committed to bringing his substantial professional resources to bear on my case and immediately paid a retainer to have him represent me. I am glad that I did. Allen and his staff were always available to me, and I received constant communication from his office as my case progressed. Any time I called, Betty or Samantha would have any information that I needed and words of support, and Allen kept me informed personally of all developments in my case. He also briefed me before and after all of our court appearances so that I knew what was going on, and how it affected my case moving forward. Mr. Trapp was always early to any meeting that we had and was always prepared. Because of him, I felt prepared as well. Allen was able to achieve exactly the outcome that I wanted, and I will hire him again if I ever need a lawyer. He has my highest recommendation.
Highly recommended DUI lawyer in Georgia

When I was arrested for DUI in March 2011, I was understandably devastated. I had never been in trouble before, and was looking at the possible destruction of my career, loss of my home, and basically everything I held dear to me in life. I left a message with Mr. Trapp late that night, and he contacted me early the following morning to discuss the situation and offer me options. When I met Allen later that week for a consultation, he immediately came off as knowledgeable not just about the DUI laws in the state of Georgia, but also about the Solicitors and Judges that would be involved in my case. It was this fact in particular that really impressed me, simply because if I was going to be forced by the state of Georgia to play this game, I wanted a guy in my corner who knew all the possible players on the opposing team. Allen made it clear to me from the onset that he was that guy. Over the next 6 months, Allen kept in good contact with me concerning my case, but did not overwhelm me with "what-if's" that would only have caused me greater stress and worry. He laid it all for me in plain language - court dates, etiquette, funds required, and potential consequences. He also arranged a highly regarded breath-testing expert to give testimony as part of my defense if needed. Although he worked hard to set me at ease as best he could throughout the process, he also did not sugarcoat anything. This was a serious situation with serious potential consequences, and Allen made sure I understood that. He didn't ever speculate or offer false hope, and was a model for the hope-for-the-best-but -plan-for-the-worst way of thinking. I personally felt this was very important so I could get my head around the process. At the same time he always pointed out that no case is hopeless, and the best thing that I could do was let him do the worrying for me and leverage his nearly quarter century of experience in dealing with these types of cases. This helped me set my mind at ease, so I could continue to go on living my life through this very trying time. When we went to court, it became clear to me again that I had made a good choice in Allen. Everybody - from the security guards, to the baliff, to the Solicitor and Judge knew Allen, and they all seemed to enjoy speaking with him. Lots of "Good afternoon's" and " Nice to see you again" phrases were exchanged. Allen has a personality and voice that helps put anyone at ease, and it was very apparent to me that day. He was also extremely professional and polite during his conversations. As we entered the courtroom, Allen pointed out where I should sit and that he would be meet the Solicitor and Judge to discuss the details of my case. Allen and the Solicitor spent quite a bit of time discussing my case with the Judge prior to my approaching the bench. When I went in front of the Judge with Allen and the Solicitor, I was pleased beyond measure with the overall outcome of my case. Allen had concretely demonstrated his ability to make an effective case on my behalf, and while it is not appropriate to discuss the details of my case, it matters not. Every case is different, and you need a guy who understands that and will explore all options as opposed to using a "canned" methodology when dealing in these matters. Bottom line if you want a guy who is experienced, knows the law, knows the players, and genuinely seems to care about helping you find a solution to a very complex problem Allen is your man. I know I made a good choice in him, and given the outcome in my case I am glad to have had the opportunity to work with him. Best Regards, GR

Mr. Trapp is the best. Very knowledgeable on the laws in Georgia. Even though I wasn't his only client at the time,I felt like I was. He and his staff made me feel very comfortable and was there for any questions I had. I hope I never need an attorney again but if I do, Mr.Trapp will be my first call. Thanks for everything.
He won my case.

I was stopped for speeding, but the officer who stopped me was not the one one who claimed I was speeding. When the officer who stopped me did not describe my car, Mr. Trapp sprang into action citing all of these Supreme Court cases that said the traffic stop was not lawful. The judge ruled our way, so the the case was dismissed. This was not the first time I had been accused of DUI, so he was I was really lucky to find Mr. Trapp
Unauthorized Road Block
Posted by: Nancy, a DUI client, almost 2 years ago.
My husband and I hired Mr. Trapp to handle an underage DUI for my son. Everyone told us that we were wasting our money because "we couldn't win." Mr. Trapp holds law enforcement to the highest standards, AND he knows the law. He challenged the validity of the road block where my son was stopped and proved that it was not set up in accordance with GA law. Because of Mr. Trapp's thorough investigative work and legal expertise our son does not have a permanant mark on his otherwise clean record. I highly recommend Allen Trapp.
