About Me

TAKING CASES IN GEORGIA, MARYLAND, WASHINGTON, DC, AND NEW YORK

I have over 19 years in a variety of legal matters.  My background includes representing small and large companies, public officials, and individuals.  I started practice in 1994 in Baltimore at a large nationally recognized corporate firm.

After working as an associate for four years at that firm, I practiced for two years at a Washington, DC environmental firm that represented large oil and gas companies in breach of contract actions, personal injury cases, and administrative matters in approximately 20 states.

In 2001, I started as a senior associate at a large and  well respected insurance defense firm with over 200 attorneys.  During my tenure there, I worked on several aviation, trucking, and contact matters throughout the United States.

For the last 11 years, I have taken the experience obtained from my corporate law firm life and have used it to represent small business owners and individuals in a variety of matters from corporate formation, contracts, shareholder disputes, business litigation, estate planning, family law matters, civil right claims, general litigation, and employment cases.  I take small claim breach of contract matters.  However, those small cases are taken on a hourly rate basis only. As a result, it is not economically efficient for small claim litigants to hire me unless their claims are $10,000 or above.

I perform short screening consultations by phone or e-mail to avoid wasting the time and money of those who I believe I cannot assist.  If you come to my office for a consultation, I charge $150/hour for initial consultations, which will apply to the retainer, should you decide to hire me.   I provide substantive information to people during these consultations.   Therefore, your money is well spent, and there is no pressure to hire me after the initial consultation.

I charge flat fees on some matters.  For 2014, my hourly rate on new matters range from $250 to $500/hour.   I also have blended rates (low hourly and contingency rates) for clients with very strong cases.  Short payment plans that extend no longer than the expected life of the case are available for those who have stable employment or well-established businesses. A guarantor may be required in some cases. .
