When my high school age son was arrested and charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana -- with intent to distribute -- in Forsyth County, we hired a lawyer (not John) who I quickly found out was not up to the task. That lawyer was not well versed in the procedures and opportunities for making a strong case for my son for deferment of charges, given our particular circumstances. John Rife fought long and hard and won a deferment for my son - an option our previous lawyer said was not possible. This deferment has allowed him to go to college out of state as scheduled and pursue his career goals. He is now thriving in college, participating in university sports, working and volunteering. He is still under the deferment guidelines, but when he graduates, those charges will be erased from his records. Hiring John Rife was the best decision we could have made - I only wish I had hired him first as it would have saved me many sleepless nights. He is smart, tenacious, and knows the ins and outs of working with the local courts. He is the attorney you want on your team - he fights for your rights.
