About me

Jesse’s practice focuses on the representation of counties and other public entities, with a particular emphasis on government liability, civil litigation, code enforcement, and the defense of actions arising under 42 U.S.C. § 1983. Before joining Jarrard & Davis, Mr. Van Sant primarily represented governmental entities, financial institutions, insurance companies, and corporations in complex litigation and appellate matters, and he also gained extensive litigation and trial experience in the areas of medical malpractice and catastrophic personal injury.

Mr. Van Sant received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Brigham Young University. He then received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he finished as a Robert E. Knox Scholar. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, and he has been invited to speak at Continuing Legal Education Seminars on topics related to whistleblower litigation and anti-retaliation laws. Originally from Dunwoody, Georgia, Mr. Van Sant is admitted to practice in the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, the Northern District of Georgia, the Southern District of Georgia, and in all Georgia State and Superior Courts. He is fluent in Dutch.
