Between the ages of 18 and 25 I worked as a nurse's aide in a skilled nursing facility and also for home health companies. With a strong desire to get a college degree, I enlisted in the Air Force and spend 6 years on active duty from 1989-1995, during Desert Storm. Aftward, I worked as a paralegal in a law firm in south Georgia as a worker's compensation and disability specialist.
I knew that I wanted to continue my work with senior citizens, so while I was in law school I focused my education around elder care issues. As soon as I graduated and became licensed, I immediately founded The Elder & Disability Law Firm of Victoria L. Collier, PC which focuses exclusively on elder care issues, to include veteran's benefits planning andMedicaid planning.
In March 2010, I authored and published a book, 47 Secret Veteran's Benefits for Seniors...Benefits You Have Earned but Don't Know About, available at www.Amazon.com and also my website, www.elderlawgeorgia.com. After creating a 3 day VA Benefits Training Course just for lawyers, it was obvious that they needed guiadance on how to let veterans know what benefits are available to them. Thus, I have also recently published a second book, 47 Secret VA Benefits Marketing Strategies for Lawyers.
In my spare time, I absolutely enjoy spending time with my infant twins, Katherine and Christopher, my spouse and my dog. We enjoy traveling, hiking and playing outdoors.
