About Me

Christopher J. McCool, a native of Huntsville, Alabama, attended the University of Kansas on a swimming scholarship. After graduation in 1987, he attended Washington and Lee University School of Law, from which he received his law degree in 1991.

Mr. McCool's practice at the Joye Law Firm is focused solely on representing plaintiffs in personal injury cases. Since joining the Joye Law Firm in 1997 (he spent his first 6 years after  law school working for a high profile corporate defense firm), Mr. McCool has successfully litigated and handled various cases, including claims against hotels, theaters, retailers, and various other business and property owners in premises liability claims, commercial vehicle owners and operators in motor vehicle collision claims, police officers and police departments in wrongful shooting cases, boat owners and boat operators in boating accident claims, nursing homes in resident injury claims, and ambulatory service providers in patient injury claims.

  • Kenneth W Harrell

I've worked with Chris for nearly 25 years now, both at a corporate defense firm where we both started our law practices and for the past 20 years at the Joye Law Firm. Chris is a "lawyer's lawyer." The track record of results he has on behalf of his clients in serious injury cases speaks for itself. He has obtained numerous seven-figure settlements for his clients. Many of these settlements were in the area of premises liability, which is a difficult area to navigate and is often avoided by many lawyers. What most impresses me about Chris is the level of preparation he brings to his cases. We have had him teach seminars at our law firm on how to prepare for and handle an expert's deposition. Fellow lawyers in the community who have been on the opposing side of a case from Chris have described him as "dogged", a "pit bull" and "relentless." If you have been seriously injured due to the fault of someone else, those are qualities you want your lawyer to have.
