I am a certified Mediator in these areas: Family, Superior Court, US Federal Court, Workers' Comp, Community, Agriculture, EEOC, and Permanency Planning (parenting rights).
I was previously a Commissioner with the NC Dispute Resolution Commission, the state's certifying and rule-making body for Alternative Dispute Resolution; and member of the NC Bar Association's Dispute Resolution Section.
I've taught Mediation and Collaborative Law seminars for lawyers, therapists, financial planners, coaches, and others, and love being a part of the transformation of the practice of law into something more sane, humane, fair and just.
Licensed since 1977
I am a lawyer who has worked with clients that (previously and/or subsequently) hired Barbara Davis as a mediator. Barbara is a personable, affable mediator who brings many tools to bear as she helps clients find resolution. Her vast experience in mediation is apparent in her work helping clients communicate toward agreement. I have also worked as a collaborative family law trainer with Barbara, and find her to be a creative, effective trainer who makes learning fun.
