    Great work

To start off I will say this was a very difficult case that came at a horrible time for me right as I was getting out of the military and moving back to Tennessee. Attorney houser kept me as informed as she could with a couple misunderstandings on my part she still worked past it and got beyond amazing results for me would definitely recommend her for any case she will cover and just a side not she is still nice enough to help me withy things as I try to get my restricted license here in Tennessee amazing work ethics and very courteous staff all in all I was very pleased with how everything turned out thanks to her hard work for me

OK for a Lawyer, FANTASTIC for the price

I was very nervous when learning about this law firm, primarily because I am a worry wart and constantly afraid of getting swindled. I was very relieved to find that they were great and I was reassured with all of the information Amanda's law firm provided.

    Pros:
I didn't have to go to court.
I paid for the divorce and got it!
I didn't have to worry about messing anything up by doing it myself.
    It was painless, easy, etc.
They have a rush fee, which does really work.
    The price is fantastic!

    Cons:
The office staff is hit or miss. That is, some will respond, some won't.
I never spoke to Amanda personally. In fact, the office staff informed me most people don't and that they handle the communication. That being said, I imagine Amanda herself is rather busy handling a large amount of case loads.

Overall, I say it is worth the price and lack of worry to use Attn. Houser. Got my decree in the mail today and am super happy about it.

    Awful

I would most certainly not recommend her to anyone what so ever. She was nice at first when my husband met her but after that we couldn't get ahold of her at all. She was either busy or not in her office. We've had our case go on for 7 months now and we can't get ahold of her to find anything out about our case. We've left her multiple phone calls and left messages with her reception lady for a call back but no phone call. I'm very mad at the fact that we have already paid her in full and she can't do her job. How is it hard to call your client back to give them the information they need?

Amanda Bowden Houser’s response: “Any real client who has a legitimate concern that they wanted a resolution to would have left their name instead of posting anonymously. Why good / purpose does posting anonymously serve unless you are either lying or at least exaggerating? So basically, the reliability of this review is dubious at best because there is no way to look into your claims, correct any problems or even know if you or your husband are actual clients. However, as to your first issue regarding the DWI case taking 7 months - this is not unusual at all. Any DWI attorney can verify this for you and moreover it would have been explained to your husband at the initial meeting as part of the same speech I give to every DWI client. Regarding the second issue, we are very good about returning calls, keeping our clients informed on the status of their case by e-mail, regular postal mail and / or phone. Your use of the word 'multiple' is vague at best, but if you mean you have called us more than twice and have not gotten a return call or response within at least the next 48 hours - you are either mistaken / exaggerating or out right lying. Feel free to post your husbands name so I can verify / address your concerns and I will respond to you personally.”

    Question on divorce papers

I sent a question to be answered and the answer I got back basically berated me. I was told that the question I asked made no sense and didn't describe the proper way to handle things. It said that we would be lucky if it went through and if we didn't know what we were doing we would "screw" ourselves which I didn't think was professional. It said if from what I had told her she would be surprised if the divorce went through. I wasn't very impressed with the unprofessional way the question was answered.

Amanda Bowden Houser’s response: “I did not mean to berate you! If you mistook it that way, I sincerely apologize. However, your question truly and honestly made no sense at all and if you recall, I was not the only attorney that said that. No one expects you to know all the legal lingo and terminology but the way you were describing the way things were being done was incredibly far off base - even for a lay person! If things were done the way you described them, the divorce should not go through. Further, if you don't know what you are doing, you can really do some serious harm - I used the term 'screw yourself' because its a term most everyone understands to be a bad thing and because you had such a hard time accurately describing your situation I didn't want to compound the issue by being overly 'lawyerly'. Again, I'm sorry you felt the question was answered unprofessionally but I really wanted to convey to you how important it is that you consult with an attorney because while I certainly wish you the best, based on the way your question was worded - you will likely have a difficult time attempting to represent yourself.”

    Horrible!

Had a horrible experience with Amanda. She makes accusations and spent more time counseling me about things that were irrelevant than getting me answers to my problems. Shes obviously inexperienced and new to this profession (licensed 3 years). She will get no where fast and lose alot of potential clients if she doesnt learn to listen and read between the lines with limited information. Then ask questions to get the facts, instead of being sarcastic and rude. Its unappreciated and unprofessional!

Amanda Bowden Houser’s response: “This person is either mistaken or outright lying on this review - she did not hire our firm, we handled no legal work for her and she has never been a client. I responded to her question posted here on Avvo and tried my best to help her. I explained to her as best I could that a good lawyer does not 'read between the lines' and that the best results come from full information and dealing with facts and not her assumptions which were the basis of quite a few incorrect beliefs about the law and her situation. When someone's beliefs are called into question - they sometimes take offense. I did apologize if she took any offense and explained that I was just doing my best to help. This was just simply an instance where this person wasn't happy to be told things may not turn out the way she believes they will.”
