Eric Trosch, a partner in Conrad Trosch & Kemmy, is a Board-Certified Family Law Specialist, one of fewer than 200 lawyers statewide to achieve this distinction from the North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization. His focus is on family law and general civil litigation.
The first recipient of the annual American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers’ Award for outstanding contribution to the advancement of matrimonial law, Eric assisted Professor Suzanne Reynolds of Wake Forest University with her research for the treatise, Lee’s North Carolina Family Law. He was appointed to the Domestic Court Committee of the Mecklenburg County Courts in 2002 and has been integral in drafting local rules and forms for Mecklenburg County as well as major revisions of those rules.
Eric, also, is an active member of the Family Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association, and was appointed to serve on the statewide Collaborative Law Committee. As a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar, he has coordinated and presented at the biannual Family Law Section custody seminar and, for numerous years, chaired the Mecklenburg County Swearing-in Ceremony Committee. Eric is a member of the executive steering committee of the Mecklenburg Collaborative Family Law Practice Group and is certified to practice Collaborative Law.
Eric graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received his law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law. He is proficient in German, a skill he learned during studies at the University of Tübingen in Germany.
Eric’s wife, Elizabeth Trosch, is a Mecklenburg County District Court Judge. Along with his brothers, Bill Trosch and District Court Judge Louis A. Trosch, Jr., Eric is the third generation of attorneys to practice in his family’s law firm. He is the grandson of T.C. Conrad and the son of Lou and Minette Trosch.

I have known Eric for many years. I have worked with him on a matter and have recommended him in several instances. Persons who I have referred him to have had nothing but positive feedback. If I have ever needed a second opinion on an unusual case, I have always had no problem in reaching out to him knowing I would get a great opinion and feedback.
