I was born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I relocated to Fayetteville, North Carolina as a teenager. My mother's faith in me exceeded mine because she thought that I was "lawyer" material way before I was able to see law as an option for me. I lived the typical hard knock life common amongst impoverished innercity youth. I fought battles both physical and mental and had to overcome the visual realities that reminded me success was not possible.
Once in North Carolina, I fumbled a bit here and there but later blossomed into an ambitious education seeker. With a degree in Economics, I taught high school math in both New York and Boston. My students were young people like myself--not so certain of what their own future held. I fought to become me, I fought to teach and be heard and I fought to have an impact on those that were too weak to fight.
Teaching was fulfilling but my mother's 'cheering on' that occurred over and over again in my pre-teens were a constant reminder. She would say, "Raushanah, you're a lawyer, Raushanah, you're jugular." In the fall of 2004, I was sitting in a law school classroom with the intent to slay the notorious law school dragon.
Being the renegade that I am, I slayed that! I'm here! I fight for my clients! My reviews are real........real clients, with real legal situations, that I helped for affordable prices. During the representation, my heart beat for their cause. My heart still beats for their cause. I'm honest, I'm reasonable and I shape my client's expectations. My client's outcomes are NO surprise. We work together and carefully craft them. I love being able to work with my clients to solve real problems that affect their lives. Many of their outcomes affect my life as well. We are partners and we work together.
