I grew up in Henderson, North Carolina. I graduated from Northern Vance High School in 1995, and then went to Wake Forest University. I graduated magna cum laude from Wake Forest in three-and-a-half years, and then enrolled in the UNC-Chapel Hill law school.
While in law school, I was invited to join the North Carolina law review, was on the National Moot Court team, and was a founding member of the North Carolina Journal of Law and Technology. I graduated, with honors, from UNC in 2002.
In 2002, I began work for Troutman Sanders LLP - one of the oldest and largest firms in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2007, I moved to Raleigh, North Carolina to be closer to family and friends, and began working at my current firm, Burns, Day & Presnell P.A., where I am now a partner.
My practice consists entirely of litigation work, with an emphasis on personal injury. I have worked on several injury claims that have resulted in recoveries in excess of $1 million. While most claims are not worth that amount, I strive to maximize the recovery for all of my clients, and handle claims of all sizes.
I also do some work on business disputes, and in doing so, I represent both individuals and corporations.
I am married, enjoy playing golf, and am a member at Raleigh Country Club.
I offer free initial consultations on all legal matters, so feel free to contact me regarding any legal issue you may have. If I cannot assist you for any reason, I can almost always find an attorney who can.
