This attorney took me on as client with full knowledge of exactly how much money I had. I paid her regularly until all the money was gone and then she continued to bill me tens of thousands of dollars at 18% interest expecting my spouse to pick up tab. Upon the realization that my spouse was not as well off as she assumed, and therefore would not be ordered to pay her fees, she dumped me as a client. She withdrew as my attorney, leaving me to represent myself, less that 2 weeks before a crucial post separation support hearing. During the 13 months she represented me, I received 3 alimony payments and spent the equivalent of 2 years salary on attorney fees, meanwhile not a single issue regarding my divorce has been resolved. After all this time and money, I must still represent myself at hearings to request alimony and equitable distribution.
