I represent people who are harmed by the negligence of others - personal injury law. These cases include medical malpractice, and wrongful death. I handle many auto accident cases, of course, but also less common cases like dog bites, premises liability, and food poisoning cases.
Choosing a lawyer:
I strongly believe that an important part of selecting a lawyer is talking with them, preferably in person. Use all the resources available to you to consider potential lawyers. But if your case involves litigation, and it goes to trial, your lawyer will be the only person standing beside you in court…so you need to be comfortable with them, and a face-to-face meeting is a good way to figure out if you are comfortable.
Until 2010 I was a Senior Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney with the City of Virginia Beach, and prosecuted a variety of serious cases. I left that office to enter private practice. My practice exclusively focuses on helping injured people.
Communication is important, and I communicate the way you do. Email? Of course, it's one of the best ways to convey information. Texting for a simple question? I text with clients frequently. Need a large document, like your medical records? We'll send you a Dropbox link. If you are out of town or just need a face-to-face meeting mSkype and Google Hangouts are not a problem. Or you can call me. Either way I aim to get back in touch with clients quickly.
I am a Member of the Virginia State Bar, and admitted to practice in all Virginia courts, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. I’m also a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association (VTLA), and active in the organization as co-chair of the VTLA Publications Committee of the peer-reviewed Journal, on the Board of Governors, and a Committee Chair (Legal Studies) for my local bar, the Virginia Beach Bar Association.

I worked with Ed for several years at the Commonwealth Attorney's Office. He is meticulous in his preparation and excels in the courtroom. Calm and confident he is well-respected by the local judges and his fellow attorneys. Ed would definitely be my top choice in a personal injury case.
